Good morning, good evening wherever you are. Happy Holidays!

Today I bring you a brawl report as part of the @splinterlands, #play2earn, social media challenge.

I took part in fray number 7 or 8. It was bronze league max cap level 3. When it comes to choosing frays our guild really doesn't have a set strategy. It's pretty much a free for all. There's a handful of 2 or 3 people that have monopolized the lower level frays as they usually are first to pick. I can't knock them as there is no structure. Having said that, since novice league frays are usually gone and untamed and alpha/beta frays are last resort there's usually not much to pick from. As a result, I picked bronze league max cap 3 despite not having level 3 summoners. My deck is pretty weak, nevertheless, I can hold my own with the limited cards I do have.

I will say this, with the onset of Chaos Legion, my win rate has gone up dramatically. What does that mean? Cards matter. I suppose I will be whooping some ass on those that come after me when new cards roll out. That's just the way the system is set up. I don't mind, it is what it is.

Anyway my strategy was to continue using my gladiator cards, combined with my newly acquired chaos legion cards. I opened 14 packs so far. But stopped opening any new packs, its not worth it. A better strategy if you are "whale sperm" is to sell your vouchers and forget the stupid airdrops and just buy individual cards. Hindsight is 20/20.

RESULTS

As a team we came in 7th place. Pretty piss poor performance I must say. I think people have stopped caring and there isn't really any structure. I'm pretty new and I'm not an officer so I just go along to get along. This guild has so much potential. I'll do my part and continue contributing the best I can by doing battles, renting out cards, joining the occasional gold, beta, and untamed frays, and see where the chips fall.

We received a total of 369 merits. At this rate, its going to take a while before we get enough for another gladius case lol.

On an individual level, I did alright and came in with a respectable 5 wins and 4 losses. Two of those wins were against top guilds. Also the fray I was in, top summoners like Yodin and Llama are a common occurrence. Having weak ass cards and given the level of competition I am pretty happy with my performance.

MY BATTLES

Battle 1

Battle one was truly a coin flip. I wanted to roll with Djinn Chwala but rule set did not allow for it. I strongly considered going with a weaker tank but Mech usually does well all alone in in low mana battles. I also was weary of magic attack so I went a minus one magic attack. Needless to say my strategy wasnt so swell. As my opponent went with melee protection and tank heal. They won, but to be honest it was coin flip. It came to who got lucky picking cards.

Battle 2

Battle 2 was an easy win for me. As my opponent royally messed up by putting a monster with taunt in position 2. Since rule set included blast anytime my team attacked his tank and his monster in position three received damage. What a devastating mistake by my opponent. He got absolutely destroyed.

Battle 3

Battle 3 was well played by my opponent. I tried to get cute and went with two monsters with the thorn ability. This strategy is pretty weak unless your opponent has heavy sneak. If they don't you are screwed. Anyway, my opponent beat me because he used a nice combo of shield, thorn, and demoralize. This rendered me useless as my melee attack was super weak and they won. Very well played by them even though destroyer is probably one of the worst cards out there lol.

Battle 4

image.png

This battle was closer than it would appear. My team put up a good fight but byzantine kitty is a very powerful legendary summoner. Self heal ability is too much to overcome. Nevertheless I still put up a good fight for the first few rounds. Plus like I mentioned in my intro I have a weak deck, I shouldn't even be in this fray. But since we have no structure in our guild this is what I got. And when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

Battle 5

image.png

This battle was a very satisfying win because it was against one of the top guilds. Despite the rule set being Melee attack from anywhere, my opponent went with a heavy magic. They probably went with that choice because it was alos back to basics rule set. Anyway divine shield and my gladiator took them to town, and we were victorious. Lesss go. I am very happy with this win given how shitty my deck is compared to some of these supposedly called "OG's" lol.

Battle 6

image.png

Another very satisfying win. I was faced against a very powerful summoner and one of the top guilds as well. But against all odds I came victorious. Why? Because speed kills. My opponent had so many misses it was comical. They got worked. And the extra melee attack from demented shark combined with Oshannus was to overpowering. It always feels good when you whoop ass on Yodin. Lesss go.

Battle 7

image.png

Not much to say here. Byzantine Kitty with self heal and poison rule set and say good night.

Battle 8

image.png

This battle was a solid win for me. Despite back to basic rule set I went with two monsters that did plus 2 damage with relatively high health. And that was the difference. My tank was too fast and my back line did too much damage.

Battle Showcase

SUMMARY

This was fun. I hope you enjoyed my brawlreport.

My overall performance was a solid one as I faced stiff competition with the likes of Byzantine Kitty, and Yodin. I should have never been in this fray as I have a weak ass deck. But like I mentioned when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. And I sure did by beating some of the top guilds out there and finishing with a respectable record.
