Hello Splinterlands lovers and friends across the world, how are you doing today? There was not much work for me today; this is because I did not go to the office this week. But, I really enjoyed my week. I was moving from one place to another.
It is good to have a friend to check-up on you. I have one friend who always check-up on me. She made my week amazing; yesterday, we went to the grocery store close to my house.
I allowed her to pick her choice in the grocery; I thought she would pick expensive things in the store. After the whole thing, she just picked up things that were less than $50.
When I saw, I told her to pick more. She said, " These things I picked are enough for me; if I pick more, it would be a waste."
As I was about to pay for the things I and my friends bought, I forgot to pick my beverage and I went inside the grocery store to get the beverage. When I came back to pay for everything, she had already paid for everything I bought except the beverage.
I said to her, why do you pay for it? She said "You always take me out to restaurants, groceries and supermarkets; you do buy me many things. Therefore, I also love to buy you things. Is anything wrong with that?"

She's a rare gem.

In this post I will show you the differences and similarities between Obsidian and Alric Stormbringer. Well, I am not a fan of Obsidian but I love to use ***Alric Stormbringer. ***
I developed my love towards the summoner because it is one of the oldest summoners I know very well. This familiarity makes me want to use it.
Obsidian is a chaos legion summoner, with an incredible ability while Alric Stormbringer are from both beta and alpha packs.
But the one I am using is the Beta pack; the only thing I used to recognize Alpha and Beta pack is the drawing.
When I was checking on the price of both Alpha and Beta, the price of Beta is higher than the price of Alpha. The lowest 1 bcx of Beta was sold for $9 while 1bcx of Alpha was sold for $13. Therefore, there was a $4 difference between them.

***Similarities between Obsidian and Alric Stormbringer
Obsidian ***

Obsidian is a summoner that gives magic attack to all friendly magic attack monsters; while also Alric Stormbringer is a summoner that does the same. They both give magic attacks to all magic monsters.

Difference between Obsidian and Alric Stormbringer

There is no doubt that there are no similarities between the two summoners because they came from different places. Obsidian is an Earth Summoner; which simply means once a player wants to use Obsidian, such a player should be aware that only Earth monsters and available neutral monsters can be used.

Alric Stormbringer is a water summoner. When the monster is to be used, only water monsters and available neutral monsters can be used.
One big advantage of Obsidian over Alric Stormbringer is that Obsidian can be used to play 'modern' while Alric Stormbringer can not. It is impossible to use Alric Stormbringer in 'modern'.
Obsidian can also be used in 'wild' where you can also use Alric Stormbringer.
This simply means that Obsidian can be used in both modern and wild while Alric Stormbringer can only be used in wild.
This is one of the major reasons new players in Splinterlands preferred modern rather than wild. Some of the new players did not have Alpha and Beta pack monsters. If such players are in the wild, defeat is inevitable.

Just like what I have said, I love to use Alric Stormbringer because of some monsters such as Djinn Oshannus, Nerissa Tridawn etc.
The void ability and magic attack was the main reason. In the collection of my Earth monsters, it is rare to see a magic monster with void ability in level 1.
Nerissa Tridawn magic attack is very high, additional magic attack is an advantage to me.
There were battles I fought of which Nerissa Tridawn's magic attack was 4 or 5. The magic attack made some of these battles easy for me to win; but, battles with weak magic made it difficult for me sometimes.
Therefore, I have won battles with these two monsters against an opponent that used Obsidian.

Ruleset
Standard: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics

I thought I would lost the battle the moment I saw some good monsters in my opponent's lineup. One of the monsters that scared me was the River Hellondale. This monster has two unique abilities- resurrect and inspire. I knew that the first monster that does would surely be resurrected because of the resurrect ability. It was a big threat to me to see River Hellondale.
The second monster that got me scared was the captain Ghost. I knew the moment Captain Ghost afflicted my monsters, there was no remedy because there was no cleanse ability monster in my lineup. There is no way the Merdaali Guardian would be able to give certain portions of health to an afflicted monster.

The Kraken

Splinter: Water
Level: 1⭐
Ability: Taunt
Speed: 4
Health: 14
Armor: 5
Attack: melee
Mana: 12
54 mana was given in this battle, it was necessary for me to use the kraken; 14 health is not small at all. If I did not use the kraken, I wouldn't have won the battle. Kraken was like bait in this battle.
After round one, at the beginning of round 2 despite the addition of Merdaali Guardian in my lineup, the kraken was eliminated.
That is to show you how strong the attack of my opponent was. In the beginning of round 2, I was left with 5 monsters while my opponent monsters were still completed.

Djinn Oshannus

Splinter: Water
Level: 2⭐⭐
Ability: Void and Phase
Speed: 5
Health: 11
Armor: 2
Attack: Magic
Mana: 8
Djinn Oshannus led after the elimination of Kraken. This was the reason I used Djinn Oshannus as a backup because I knew that kraken would be eliminated. Towards the middle of the second round, opponent's Djinn Oshannus was eliminated but immediately resurrected. I knew this would happen, but it was eliminated immediately because it was just one health. That was the end of the second round.

Nerissa Tridawn

Splinter: Water
Level: 2⭐⭐
Ability: None
Speed: 2
Health: 10
Armor: 2
Attack: Magic
Mana: 9
I was happy when I saw that Opponent's Djinn Oshannus was finally eliminated. One of the things that made me happy was that Djinn Oshannus was the strongest monster in the opponent's lineup. I knew that the other monsters would be very easy for me to destroy.
Nerissa Tridawn's magic attack was very helpful and powerful. One attack from this monster eliminated opponent's Nerissa Tridawn. This attack was the reason I choose it.

Venari Wavesmith

Splinter: Neutral
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Protect
Speed: 3
Health: 4
Armor: 2
Attack: Magic
Mana: 5
I knew my opponent would use a range or melee monster. Therefore, using Venari Wavesmith was a strategy to delay. If there was an opportunity monster in the opponent's lineup, it would have taken such an opportunity monster 2 times to attack Merdaali Guardian after the elimination of the kraken.
The two armor given to all friendly monsters was to delay from any melee and ranged monsters.

Merdaali Guardian

Splinter: Water
Level: 2⭐⭐
Ability: Healing
Speed: 3
Health: 3
Armor: 2
Attack: None
Mana: 3
To keep the monster in the first position longer in this battle, the Merdaali Guardian was very important. If there was no Merdaali Guardian, the kraken would have not reached the second round and Djinn Oshannus wouldn't have reached the final round. That was the reason I made it possible by all means to include Merdaali Guardian in my lineup.

Swamp Spitter

Splinter: Water
Level: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Repair
Speed: 3
Health: 5
Armor: 4
Attack: Range
Mana: 7
The best position for this monster is the last position. Swamp Spitter cannot lead battle in this kind of rule. It can only lead when there is close range in the ruleset.
I needed the repair to keep repairing the damaged armor; knowing fully well that there would be a melee or ranged monster in my opponent's lineup, it was very important to use Swamp Spitter to delay.
You could see Axemaster, despite the double strike, it could not destroy Djinn Oshannus. If there was no Swamp Spitter that repaired the armor of Djinn Oshannus each round it was damaged. It would have been eliminated from the battle. Yet, I would have won even if Djinn Oshannus was eliminated.

In conclusion, we have seen the efficacy of teamwork. Every monster carried out their functions which made it possible to win the battle.
Therefore, always work as a team because great is the achievement of more people than a single person.
