What is Hive DRIP coin?

DRIP is a crypto-coin on the HIVE blockchain that invests into GameFI projects, which are projects that combine gaming with blockchain technology. We believe this will be one of the top growth areas in all of crypto over the next 5-10 years.

Recap

It's been a wild start to the year. In just 4 months our assets have gone from $56k to over $83k. I expect most of our GameFI coins will do very well later in the bull cycle. We are buying, diversifying and growing our funds.

In addition we increased our daily swap.hive payouts again and we plan for another increase in April. This is 9 straight increases in 9 months.

Total wallets staking DRIP have increased to 446. We are getting close to 500!

Splinterlands (HIVE/Hive-Engine) - https://splinterlands.com/

There has been a LOT of changes in Splinterlands over the last month. The Splinterlands governance token is SPS, and also the token earned by playing the game. The SPS DAO governs the distribution of SPS and several proposals were passed to reduce inflation which is good long-term. So the SPS payouts from several Liquidity Pools were decreased. I believe this caused a lot of investors in those LP's to dump some of their funds and is why SPS prices have gone back down quite a lot back to near our cost basis.

Also SPS was removed in end of season rewards and replaced by another coin called glint that can be saved and spent on anything in their shop. Long-term I like the idea and I believe the changes being made now are geared towards players and not investors. This is what the game needs.

The team continues to work on NPE (new player experience) this year. I'm looking forward to one-click rentals coming soon as well as tech modernization to be finished so there is a better mobile experience. The mobile app was deprecated and it's a top priority to have a responsive mobile experience that can be played from the Hive Keychain App. The CEO has said once some of these things are done, the game can start marketing which it really hasn't done before.

I'm bullish long-term but we could be in for a bumby ride. Our SPS position has passed 500k, which has been our goal. With prices depressed we will be looking to accumulate and hold SPS rewards from staking and LP's and sell vouchers as they are earned. As SPS starts to go back up we will be looking to swap some SPS over 500k into Hive.

Mega World is an amazing experience for someone looking for a City Builder game. The only coin is Mega and it's needed to play the game. There's a very low supply compared to most projects and its scarcity could really cause it to take off as their marketing plans pan out. The game has been in development since 2018 and is about to have a public launch this year.

DRIP currently owns 110k MEGA at a basis of $.065. Most recent pricing was $.099 which is about a 50% increase from our basis. We're very bullish here.

We continue holding around 20,000 FLUX that's earning rewards from running their top-tier Stratus node. This is a project we really believe in. They are pioneering the PoUW concept and have lots of affordable decentralized cloud-computing options for businesses and now Artificial Intelligence (AI). In fact our website is hosted on the FLUX cloud. Our FLUX was purchased around $.46 and it's now over $1.00, more than 100% greater than our cost basis.

We purchased Genesis chests months ago for this game during a pre-sale that we opened when rentals went live. We have since acquired more than 25 of the playable NFT assets that we can rent. The rentals have been doing well with some hunters renting out for over 80% ROI. Currently earnings have been used to upgrade hunters and we're almost upgraded to a nice point where we can start accumulating some of their token and/or more matic.

We are most excited about their announcement about moving chains. They are moving over to the Immutable zkEVM chain which is a collaboration between polygon labs and ImmutableX. It's essentially ImmutableX but with smart contracts. Lightning fast transactions and near zero gas fees. Several games are launching as we speak on the chain and I see a big future here.

Other Investments

We took profits on Parallel. We mentioned in the last Treasury Report that we had picked up 100 shares around $8.5. We sold and put the funds (around $1500) into an Eth/IMX LP on the new zkEVM chain. It's parked there earnings fees.

We're still holding over 25,000 in Swap.Hive/HIVE. Some liquid and some in HP. We also have over $1,000 in HBD savings. In addition we hold quite a few other coins on hive-engine.

We have smaller investements into games on other chains including a web3 rogue-like RPG called Descend that is planning to launch on Base.

We have our eyes on many other projects and are researching/playing/talking with other communities.

A Pirate Saga

This is a game between Thorlock and a hive-engine Dev that's still in pre-alpha. The game isn't owned by DRIP but there are synergies there. The game purchased over 1,000 DRIP to fund their rewards pool as a start. In addition DRIP buys some of their coin, LOOT, to give out during our daily raffles for stakers of 1,000+ DRIP.

A Pirate Saga is a pirate-themed NFT game that can be played right from DRIP's discord (link at bottom). The game is live and In fact, we're now on 4 discord servers and growing. We've barely gotten started.

Newest update: Our in-game marketplace is live, we released a new fishing command as we will be moving to an energy system. We've also been working hard on the NFT marketplace where you can buy/sell NFT's from a browser. In addition we plan to have a browser-based way to play eventually. We're also almost done creating our first card set that will later be released in packs. Lots more to come soon! We're already minting NFT's on chain. Have a look at our first common card, Oscar Foul, that can be obtained in quests. ARRRGH

Looking Ahead

We plan to continue diversifying across chains while mainly concentrating our focus on web3 gaming per our whitepaper. We will continue to seek out more Gamefi investments that have a high likelihood of success.

Daily Payout

We pay out Swap.Hive every single day at 12:30 AM UTC and plan to increase the payout per DRIP coin held each month! We also reward .25% of staked DRIP daily at this time as well.

Staking Rewards

You'll receive exactly .25% of your staked DRIP tokens rewarded daily in liquid DRIP coins. This is a 149% APY. Coins paid out are liquid so you'll need to stake them daily in order to keep compounding your rewards.

Ex. - If you started with 1000 DRIP staked, you'll receive 2.5 coins the first day of staking rewards. If you then restake those coins, you'd earn 2.50625 additional DRIP the next day. If you did this each day for a year without ever purchasing more coins you'd have 2487.71 DRIP coins. Since the Swap.Hive payout is per coin and we plan to increase the payout slightly each month you'd be receiving more than 2.5 times your current Hive payout. The power of compounding is huge so don't forget to restake!
