Splinterlands Seems To Be Struggling These Days

I've been away from the game for a little bit. I just mainly needed a mental break from my games and blockchain related activities but from time to time I check in just to see how things are going and to check on my rentals.

I know the crypto markets have been crazy volatile as of late with the whole FTX thing and the price of Bitcoin taking a dump but every time I check in on splinterlands there are so many changes happening and it also feels like they're trying to push way too much out from the Rift Watchers side set that honestly didn't even need to be done in my opinion given the ridiculous quantity of packs they placed on Chaos Legion to now these new Tower Defense games, Runis and whatever else they're trying to get their hands into.

With all of the changes they've made to the game over the last year or so I'm just not sure the direction of the game is for me any more.

I pulled a hard reset and sold out of 100% of my collection during the SPS craze and the wild pump in prices of SPS, DEC and cards because I knew those prices couldn't last forever and that in many ways it was too good to be true and looking back it was the greatest financial decision and best foresight I've ever exercised in an investment because things have come crashing down ever since SPS airdrops started to fade away.

I'm keeping my hand in the game but I'm teetering on the fence more and more every day with when it will be time to retire and hang it up for good.

I really hope Splinterlands can do something to keep things interesting and keep people like me around that have been here since the beginning.

I guess I'll just take a break again for a while and let my rentals do their thing, maybe check back in another few months or so to see where things are at.
