Antoid Platoon - Attack of the Ants!

Chaos Legion Pack was first released last December 8, 2021, with the new artworks and remarkable abilities. Antoid Platoon is under the fire element and was released under this pack.

LORE:

An Antoid Platoon typically consists of five to seven Fire Ants, each approximately the size of a man's fist. They are well armored and wield shields and spears that, while tiny, provide a formidable defense and offense against the antoid's foes. Operating through a shared hive mind, the Antoid Platoon is employed to defend Ant Miners, other workers, the colony, and its queen. They are also known to become aggressive when invaders encroach upon their homes and surrounding territory.

MY BATTLE

This was the best chance to use the star for this weekly battle, Antoid Platoon because of the opportunistic ability. I used Tarsa as my summoner giving my monsters extra melee attacks and extra life. As my usual lineup for fire battles, having Living lava as the first tank. ( So if you are my future enemy, you might counter me easily 🤣 ) I put this monster up front thinking my enemy would use a melee tank too, and I guessed right. Followed by Radiated Brute she has average mana but can be a very strong attacker. Then the Antoid Platoon, they were placed in the middle for backup and guard for the backline, they may have the lowest melee damage but they are extraordinary. Tenyii Striker as always, he cannot be dismissed from almost all of my fire battles. Cerberus is one of my favorite because of his healing abilities. Lastly, Magnor among all the monsters I have, Magnor has the highest melee damage, thinking that his ability would blind my enemy's monsters, I put him as my last tank. Well, I guess in this part I was wrong. (My bad 😅)

In opportunistic ability, the attack mostly goes to the monster who has the lowest life.

ROUND 1

This round started by hitting my Magnor with the enemy's range attackers which killed my last tank, then was countered by my attacks, and was directed to Shieldbearer.Thanks to the equal opportunity, my other monsters could attack in their position having a high melee attacks it killed Shieldbearer at an early stage.

ROUND 2

Now that both of the taunt monsters are dead, the attacks are now redirected to the monster who has the lowest life, which is Antoid Platoon. Because of its ability, the ranged attacks couldn't totally penetrate, giving chances to my other monsters to live. He was like a decoy in this time and sacrificed his life for his team. Then it was my time to attack, first Pelacor Albalest,attacked by Cerberus, killed. Second, Living Lava made a total miss to the enemy's first tank. Then Tenyii Striker, who attacked Goblin Chariot followed by Radiated Brute who attacked Time Mage, left the enemy with 2 monsters to defend their team.

ROUND 3

This round put the enemy at their advantage, killing my first tank but compared to him, I still have 3 monsters left to defend my team.

ROUND 4

Chaos Knight is a strong opponent. Her shield was a great help as well as her ability. As a last woman standing, she was able to defeat my Radiated Brute putting Tenyii Striker at the first position. Cerberus killed Supply Runner with one hit.

ROUND 5

Tenyii Striker might have missed his attack but Cerberus was able to push through Chaos Knight giving me a good win.

Did your strategy work?

Yes my strategy worked not on what I had expected but it still worked. Haha I was thinking to use it as my best attacker but in the end he was the best decoy,but still the best. 😉

What will you try differently next time?

I would like to rent a higher level of Antoid Platoon because of  scavenger ability,  then pair it with Disintegrator.

Do you like the Antoid Platoon ? Why or why not?

Yes, I like it because of its low mana. It has also the shield ability where in every low mana battles I always choose this monster where I could utilize the remaining mana with other capable monsters.
