Hello everyone,
here is my entry for this week's weekly battle challenge the Goblin Psychic: Link to the challenge.

This card is very strong mostly against healing teams in silver and above, because of the affliction ability, which prevents the enemy from healing and it became the centerpiece of the match that I am about to share with you.

The match is a 25 mana cap Close range, meaning that ranged attackers can attack from the first position.

Starting the match I noticed that the opponent has Byzantine Kitty, which was not nice to see but I still decided to try and counter it. The match was a 25 mana cap so I knew with kitty costing 7 he has room for maybe 2-3 big monsters or maybe a sneak team of small attackers to pick out my backline. So taking that into consideration here is my lineup:

I got Quix The Devious so I go with him to counteract a little bit the speed of kitty and probably some of the ranged damage he might use. I got him at level 2:

As a tank I went with the Djin Chwala which I got a level 3 - the max I can play with my summoner:

Next I knew that whatever the throws with the 2 speed buff from Kitty is going to be fast so going with melee or ranged is a gamble because of all the misses that might happen so I decided to at least try with something that can hit, which is magic damage and with that I choose the star of the show, the Goblin Psychic which I got to level 4 which also gives him the Affliction:

Next I went with the Mushroom Seer in case he goes with some heavy magic damage dealers to counteract that at least a little bit. I am renting a single BCX of it just to throw in against magic:

And lastly for the backline I go with a favorite of mine the Naga Assassin, which serves the purpose of blocking or at least trying to block a sneak play if he goes with that by dodging some attacks and retaliating I got her to level 5:

So on to the battle:

Round 1:

My opponent went with 2 big monsters and filled up the remaining mana with the Mycelic Morphoid on the front line. Luckily for me both his big monsters were ranged damage so I got a nerf on their damage. So the first round the Morphoid dies and the Cornealus gets to the front line with his thorns, self heal and the heal from Kitty he can be a real tough target to kill, but luckily our hero gets an Affliction on the first hit, which pretty much seals his faith.

Round 2:

My tank gets stunned but it doesn't really matter because the Goblin is keeping him alive, Cornealus is in the front, I am not hitting him to get the thorns damage and it is all good.

Round 3:

Cornealus finally goes down and the Lightning Dragon falls to first position

Round 4:

All that is left is to seal the deal, which the Mushroom Seer does and so the match ends.

I think the match went as good as it could for me and my strategy ended up working out in the end. I was really happy beating Kitty as I think many of you might relate to that feeling, being defeated by it a million times.
