Hello everyone,

Here is my entry for the Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge - Carrion Shade

I got it to level 3 for the flying and mainly use it in 2 scenarios, either in an equalizer match like the one I am about to share with you or as a meat shield on the back line against sneak monsters.

Here is the link to the battle if you prefer to watch it on your own

Here is the ruleset of the battle:

ruleset.png

32 mana No healing and Equalizer the perfect ruleset for my death splinter.
In this ruleset I like to focus on throwing as much damage on the board from cards with the least HP in order to capitalize if the opponent decides to throw out a beefy monster on the board. I also really like using the life leach monsters as if everyone ends up with 10 or more HP and they are in the 3rd or 4th position they can get to insane HP amounts.

Here is my lineup:

First position is the Carrion Shade:Shade.png
I got it to level 3 for the flying. I went with it as the first spot because it can be a great first position tank in the equalizer ruleset if it gets a couple of dodges, because of the flying.

Second spot is the Crypt Beetle

Got him level 3, he is great as a second position tank because of the Shield ability.

Next up I got the Silent Sha'vi

This is one of my favorite new cards, I got it level 4 for the extra damage. It is a great sneak monster with high speed and a lot of damage. I play it in equalizer too because it has only 6 HP so it will not buff the enemy that much if they all go low HP monsters but in the same time it assures that my front positions will have at least 6 HP to be able to absorb some blows.

Next is the Venari Bonesmith

I got him level 4 for the poison and as I mentioned before he is amazing in these equalizer matches with the amount of HP he can amass before he gets to front position.

Next we got the Grim Reaper

I got just the one BCX from him and I usually play him for the affliction but this time he is in because he is low HP which will get buffed and offers 3 damage.

And the final spot is Dhampir Stalker

I got him level 4, for the extra damage. I usually don't play him that much but with 8 mana left over he was the best pick - 4 damage, true strike archer to finish up the lineup.

On to the game itself:

Round 1

R1.png
My opponent went with magic, which works out perfectly for me and my Thadius Brood, because he gets his damage nerfed, and he also made the mistake of throwing out the Mycelic Splipspawn which buffed all of the monsters to 10 HP. Overall I got more damage on the board than him and it should be an easy victory.

Round 2

R2.png
His Slipspawn died on round 1 while our Shade still has a little HP left.

Round 3

R3.png
His chicken died and the Centauri Mage falls into fist position.

Round 4

R4.png
The mage is dead, the Shroom is next.

Round 5

Round 6

Final Result

Overall it was an easy victory because the opponent made the mistake to play the high HP monster and he didn't really optimize his lineup for the Equalizer ruleset

I hope that you enjoyed the game, I know it was a bit long and not the most exciting but it shows how important it is to be mindful of the ruleset and take full advantage of it if you want to succeed in this game.

Thank you if you took the time out of your day to check out my post, have and amazing day and keep smiling!
