Greetings Hivers welcome to this interesting post of my new artwork. I’ve decided to make a native artwork to depict where I came from. And this historical building right here is called the cocoa house because it was built from cocoa farming money back then.

Saludos, bienvenidos a este interesante post de mi nueva obra de arte. He decidido hacer una obra de arte nativa para representar de dónde venía. Y este edificio histórico aquí mismo se llama la casa del cacao porque fue construido con dinero de cultivo de cacao en ese entonces.

Let me tell you some facts about this structure.
The cocoa house is the first skyscraper is west Africa, completed in 1965 at a height of 105meters, as it was once the tallest building in Nigeria. It’s located in dugbe, a major commercial area in Ibadan, oyo state, Nigeria

Permítanme contarles unos pequeños hechos sobre esta estructura.

La casa de cacao es el primer rascacielos del oeste de África, terminada en 1965 a una altura de 105 metros, ya que una vez fue el edificio más alto de Nigeria. Se encuentra en Dugbe, una importante zona comercial de Ibadan, estado de Oyo, Nigeria.

Had to use this picture as reference. Saw it online I never thought I would be doing this I would have taken the picture myself last time I was around there. The enterance to the ground floor isn’t really feasible so I tried checking other pictures online so I can scrap something out of this ground floor and first floor.

Tuve que usar esta imagen como referencia. Lo vi en línea, nunca pensé que estaría haciendo esto, habría tomado la foto yo mismo la última vez que estuve por allí. La entrada a la planta baja no es realmente factible, así que intenté revisar otras fotos en línea para poder desechar algo de esta planta baja y primer piso.

Process/proceso

• I grid my paper a long time ago. So I just started by drawing out a slant long line with my ruler to get the perfect height and little slant as in the picture and made the replica at the right side but a little shorter to get the shape of the front view and enough space for the floor windows. Counted 23 floors. And I made them.

• • E hice una cuadrícula de mi papel hace mucho tiempo. Así que comencé dibujando una larga línea inclinada con mi regla para obtener la altura perfecta y un poco inclinado como en la imagen e hice la réplica en el lado derecho, pero un poco más corta para obtener la forma de la vista frontal y suficiente espacio para las ventanas del piso. Se contaron 23 pisos. Y los hice.

After the front view I moved to the side walls and I started started adding the building details from there like the windows and all.

Después de la vista frontal, me mudé a las paredes laterales y comencé a agregar los detalles del edificio desde allí, como las ventanas y todo.

And next I added the front windows for each floors. All with 6h pencil and ruler. And also a lot of calculations and measurements.

A continuación, añadí las ventanas delanteras para cada piso. Todo con lápiz y regla de 6 horas. Y también muchos cálculos y mediciones

As soon as I’m cool with d sketch or with touch of little construction, I started outlining before shading because I can’t risk the lines fading off. And i also use my white pastel pencil to demarcate the ends of each windows.

Now, let’s shade from windows to the side walls, used blending stump to add some rough surfaces on the walls , the big windows are covered with slant lined made with general charcoal pencil just as I can see in the reference photo and the small windows, I made by shading the inner side with the charcoal and the outside with 6b graphite.

Desde las ventanas del piso hasta las paredes laterales, se usó un tocón de mezcla para agregar algunas superficies ásperas en las paredes, las grandes ventanas están cubiertas con forro inclinado hecho con lápiz de carbón general, tal como puedo ver en la foto de referencia y las pequeñas ventanas, hice sombreando el lado interior con el carbón y el exterior con grafito 6b.

And now onto the basement I tried to draft out few pillars and make a set of windows for a floor ontop of the pillar. I could see that’s what it look like from diff photos consultation. So I did what I had to do. Shaded where necessary and blended the whole piece together.

Y ahora en el sótano traté de sacar algunos pilares y hacer un juego de ventanas para un piso encima del pilar. Pude ver que eso es lo que se ve en la consulta de fotos diferentes. Así que hice lo que tenía que hacer. Sombreado cuando fuera necesario y mezclado toda la pieza.

And now the last part. I used double shadow because I there is no enough space to make the shadow long enough infront of the building so I had to make two angular shadow and cut of the paper a little at the top. And here i am.

Y ahora la última parte. Usé doble sombra porque no hay suficiente espacio para hacer la sombra lo suficientemente larga frente al edificio, así que tuve que hacer dos sombras angulares y cortar el papel un poco en la parte superior. Y aquí estoy.
