Elephant Charcoal on Paper

Good day lovely hivers, here is another plain charcoal on paper art I made. I chose elephant of all animals because its less/not harmful.

Around 90% of the african elephants have been wiped out in the past century. So i thought a nice piece of art will be cool.

Process
I started by sketching out the shape of the elephant.

And then i divided the piece in to 6 parts, 2/3 and started adding more details and shading to each parts till i’m done.

From that part to the middle of the first row

Then to the 3rd part.

Onto the second row, i started from my left again.
Please note i added details with 4h graphite and i apply charcoal dust with artist brush.

I used a kneaded eraser and to highlight and the monozero eraser to create spots.

Had to make keep sharpening my 12b pencils while drawing the trunk.

After the elephant is done, i tried making a floor effects. Sketched out few stones, small trees and grasses with a pathway, and i painted the background paper with charcoal.

Thanks.
