A battle worth talking about. I was lucky choosing some good cards.

After tried drawing some digital of some splinterlands character (it became history already as I did that a long ago) when I wasn't interested in writing about this game or playing it. Now that I don't do the digitals anymore and I'm more into playing video games, I thought of giving it a try so the first thing I did was purchasing the summoner's spellbook to unlock vast possibilities in this play2earn game.

I was gifted some credits (in-game tokens) and I used some of them to rent some good cards after investigating a little about the game and then I started playing it. The beginning was not bad as I kept winning on every battles till I lost on after total 9 longest streak. Then I lost three more battle and after all this winning and losing, I unlocked a new league which is bronze. Now I got to do battle with monsters in higher levels.

After getting to the bronze level, I got one battle that's worth talking about as I see it.

The ruleset was Equal Opportunity (All monsters have the opportunity ability). This ruleset provides all monsters the opportunity ability and monsters with the opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy monster with the lowest health. So I guess melee monsters with opportunity may be able to attack from second or even the last position and ranged monsters with opportunity may attack from first position as well which are not the regular rules of these monsters but this ruleset/ability changes it.

The mana cap was 37, which was good enough for me to choose some good cards from what I rented from the rental market. I had the chance to choose from any splinter and as I rented only some fire cards to warm up, I had no other choice but choosing the fire splinter.

The summoners: Yodin Zaku is the legendary fire summoner that I chose for this battle and for the battles that I started warming up. This summoner looks good with all the buffs it provides to the monsters. It provides extra health that's really important for any monster, it provides extra ranged attack that makes ranged monsters more powerful and I mostly chose ranged monsters just for this, and this summoner provides blast ability that's kind of an extra attack and every monsters of the team gets all these.

The opponent team used Kelya Frendul for the water element which is a rare summoner providing an extra speed and an extra armor too all monsters of its team.

As the ruleset gives opportunity ability to all monsters, I tried to check how and if it works. To do that, I used Cerberus at the second position which is a melee attacker without any own ability that makes it attacking from that position. But now it gets opportunity ability and as this ability promised, Cerberus should be able to attack from the second position as well but should target the enemy monster with the lowest health.

So, after choosing Living Lava for the first position and Cerberus for the second position, then I chose four ranged monsters for rest four positions and the first ranged monster there that I chose for the third position has an ability called close range which allows this monster to attack from the first position being a ranged attacker. Then fourth positioned ranged attacker Lord of Fire increases one extra health to all friendly monsters. And there are two more ranged attackers who got extra ranged attack as well from summoner's buff.

My lineup strategy:

This is a melee attacker with a health of 7, two armor, three melee attack and one speed that I used in level 2. This card is a good card with shield ability that reduce damage from melee and ranged attacks. So if there are melee or ranged attackers in the opponent team, then this monster has a chance to reduce those melee and ranged attacks.

And its melee attack is really big as there we see some melee attackers having only one attack but this monster offers not one but two. It has a low speed which is a con for normal battles but this monster can be of great help when it comes to play in reversed speed ruleset.

Cerberus became my favorite melee attacker for the fire splinter. This three headed monster is a melee attacker with a health of 6, two melee attack and three speed that I used in level 2.

It has six health but it gets to heal/increase its health when the health is lost using its special heal ability. And it can use this ability once in every round and can get its lost health back till it lives.

We know ranged attackers can't attack from the first position in general which is a normal rule for ranged attackers in splinterlands. But there are exceptions when a ranged attacker has a special ability as close range. Yes, close range ability allows this monster to attack from the first position as well even after being a ranged attacker.

Not just that, Tinderlock offered one more ability called last stand for what, this monster gains increased stats if it's the only monster on the team alive. Every monsters in the friendly team should die leaving Tinderlock on the field to witness its last standing power. Tinderlock is a ranged attacker with a health of 9, three ranged attacks and two speed that I used in level 2.

Lord of Fire is a ranged attacker with a health of four, one ranged attack and two speed that I used in level 1. Its a monster with low stats and it costs low mana as well.

This monster has strengthen ability and with this ability, this monster increases the health of all friendly monsters. So, this monster cares for his teammates which needed for any battle.

As a 4 mana monster, Fire Demon offers some great stats. Its a ranged attacker with a health of six, two ranged attacks and three speed that I used in level 2.

It gets its own blast ability in level 3 that gives this monster the ability to do blast damage along with the ranged damage which makes this monster even better.

Fire Beetle is a common ranged monster with a health of four, two ranged attacks and two speed that I used in level 3. This beetle carries fire on its back unlike any beetles that we see in the real world.

This low mana cost monster has a special ability called snipe and monsters with snipe ability targets enemy monsters with ranged, magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

First, Lord of Fire, and then Fire Beetle of the friendly team became the target of the opportunist opponent monsters and after they died, Cerberus fell for that and died third from the friendly team. Before round four, the friendly team lost three monsters and the opponent team lost four.

Cerberus of the friendly team did some good damages from the second position till it was alive but the last three monsters gave me victory. Both Tinderlock and Fire Demon did great with their ranged attacks. Living Lava missed its last attack though without any proper reason but it did good by not getting killed fast. The blast ability from the summoner's buff did really great.
