Pizza A Slice of Madness Brawl Report

Greetings to all Splinterlands players and members of the Midnight Letters community! Today is another report about our guild's most recent brawl. Pizza A Slice of Madness performed better than last week, finishing in fifth place. It was also my strongest showing so far, as I contributed seven wins to the team.

Overall Guild Rank: Fifth Place

We finished with a fifth place ranking same as last week. Even the wins and losses are the same with 78 wins and 30 loses but we took 55 Crowns prize this time.

Personal Brawl Performance and Selected Games

I tied in 9th-12th place in our guild in terms of contribution to the brawl. I did worse compared to last week. I only won five games this time while last week I won seven games.

Battle 1

In the game I had the Fire element against my opponent's Death. We are only allowed melee cards. I had Frankarsgard in tank but instead of Chaos Furybringer, I decided to have Vengeful Monk as my second unit. For my gladiator card, I had Orella Abadon. The card is only two mana and has two attack. It's a great unit for low mana games like this one. Lastly I had Echelon, a card with opportunity skill like Vengeful Monk. My opponent only had Death element and used only three cards because they are high mana. He had a gladiator card in tank. It is four mana and has four attack. Its problem is its low life stat for a tank so it will die easy. He also had Vengeful Monk for his second card and for his third and last, a nine mana card, Great Bear Druid. Having the higher life tank and more cards on the table gave me an advantage and won the game.

Battle 2

My second game was Poison and Melee Mayhem. Luckily, Earth was included in the available elements. The Earth archon prolongs the life of units with +1 life stat. I had Quora on tank, she has high health and has self healing skill. I put Mad Gearhead in second and Time Bandit in third. Time Bandit has cleanse skill to remove the poison from my tank. This is another reason for using Earth element in this game. Last, I had an archer to add to the attack.

My opponent also had Earth element in this game. He had Spellmonger in tank. This strategy usually works in the Frontier format to use Spellmonger's thorns skill against the opponent's tank. In brawls, this strategy is less effective because of stronger tanks. His second unit is Palidon Rak. It has a high life stat of twelve but it has no skills. It's overmatched against my gladiator card Quora. Next he had Dread Tafarian who has healing skills. The strategy to put him in the middle is for it to survive the poison by healing itself. Lastly, he also had Time Bandit with its cleanse skill. The problem with his strategy is that Time Bandit is removing poison from Spellmonger while his Palidon Rak is getting poisoned. My Quora and opponent's mistake was a big advantage for me.

Spending the Rewards

I can only buy one gladiator pack with my merits. Nothing exciting in the rewards today. I already had copies of these cards and there is nothing new.

Conclusion

We earned 3056 Merits and 21 SPS from the brawl. It's lower than last week but it's better than none. I'm grateful to guild for accepting me as a member and gave me the opportunity to join the brawls and earn guild rewards.
