Moon Karts has crafted a dynamic reward system that balances skill, strategy, commitment, and investment. Players aren’t just rewarded for show—they need to earn it, in every sense of the word.

What Drives Earnings

The amount of rewards you get on Moon Karts depends on four key factors:

  • Skill in racing—winning races consistently matters.

  • Time spent—players who are active gain advantages.

  • NFT quality—higher‐quality karts, drivers, parts translate into better performance.

  • Staked COLONY governance tokens—staking isn’t optional if you want to maximize yield.

If you lack just one component—say, you have terrific NFTs but don’t stake tokens—you’ll see lower earnings. All four contribute to your payout.

Token Pools & Distribution

COLONY tokens are the core rewards. Every day, a fixed supply is divided between several “pools,” each with its own purpose.

Here’s the breakdown:

Pool% of Daily COLONY Tokens
Orbitals Pool40%
Ranking Pool25%
Tokens found on track10%
Referral Pool5%
Seasonal Rewards Pool20%

Each pool has its own rules: for example, doing well in leaderboards gives access to the Ranking Pool; collecting tokens during a race and finishing with them unlocks the “on‐track” rewards.

Seasonal & Referral Incentives
  • Seasonal Rewards: These accumulate over every 10-day cycle. Players’ leaderboard rankings are “snapshotted” at cycle’s end. Better performance over time—versus a single race—earns more rewards.
  • Referral Program: If you refer someone who spends at least $20 (or equivalent) in the store, you get points. As they continue spending, more points roll in. The Referral Pool (5% of daily tokens) is shared proportional to those points.

There are safeguards: each user has a daily cap—you can’t collect more than 0.5% of the total Rewards Pool or 10% of the Referral Pool in a single day. Unclaimed tokens roll over, which helps keep the system balanced.

Moon Domes (Upcoming)

Looking ahead, one exciting feature in development is the Moon Dome—essentially a player-owned racetrack. Owners will receive 10% of tokens earned in all races held in their Dome. It adds a layer of community ownership and introduces new revenue opportunities.
