Why Am I buying so many reward cards?

There are 2 major reasons:

1. Cheapest way to buy CP to rent
2. Potential Utility when land comes out

RENTING CP - CALCULATIONS

There are many factors that go into calculating profitability of renting CP, and many of the following assumptions could change but I still believe that the rental market will trend upward with the release of land and as new players enter the space.

ASSUMPTIONS

  1. PRICE TO ACQUIRE CP - 200CP/$.
  2. CONSERVATIVE CP RENTAL PRICE - 300CP/DEC
  3. PRICE OF DEC - $.003

$100 Intital investment at 200CP/$ = 20,000CP
20,000CP rented at 300CP/DEC = 66.67DEC/DAY
66.67DEC/DAY x 365 DAYS = 24,333DEC/YEAR
24,333DEC/YEAR x $.003 = $73 /Year = 73%APR

If you choose to cancel and manage your rentals for EOS you could make an additional $20/ year bringing your APR to 93%. This also does not account for the 5% bonus CP you get for maxing a card. Additionally for the next 150 days you will be getting returns from SPS airdrop.

REWARD CARDS UTILITY FOR LAND

Based on the bits and pieces of information we have heard from Town Halls and Splinterlands announcements we know that land will be essentially be pulling alot of cards from circulation in order to work the land.

My prediction ,and what I am basing this discussion on, is that Land will try to pull an equal amount of cards from each Splinter and rarity. I also believe there will be additional requirements for foil and edition of cards. The CP of each card on your land will matter, meaning land owners are going to need the cheapest CP from each Splinter and Rarity.

I believe this will give incredible utility for cheap cards and will raise the bar for what the cheapest cards on the market are. One concern is that it will solely based on CP which means that it will only be ALPHA/BETA GFL cards being used for land. The argument I have against this is that the Splinterlands teams understands they have overprinted Rewards cards for Chaos legion, in particular legendary cards, so I believe they will be tailor land somehow to still pull these cards out of circulation.

So what am I doing?

Buying up as many reward cards as I can shooting for an average of 200CP/$. And making sure that I cover every rarity, Splinter, and foil as best as possible.

Really nice sand simple calculations shared. I am not as aggressive in purchasing reward cards exclusively, but after each season I usually buy up cheap reward cards and rent out at max bronze and silver league levels for the commons and rares.
