How to win in BRIAR PATCH Ruleset | SILVER MODERN/WILD

Hey guys! Ign1te here again! for this article I wanna share with you my newly created lineup that I'm using in Briar patch ruleset (THORNS)

Please note that this composition that I'm going to share might not give you a 100% win rate and may not apply to all rulesets this is just a sharing of some of my composition and knowledge in playing Silver League Leaderboard/Tournaments/Brawls, there are still a lot of things to consider when making/picking a good cards lineups.

HOW TO WIN IN BRIAR PATCH RULESET?

RULESET:
Briar Patch: All Monsters have the Thorns ability

MANA CAP: 44

In this ruleset, Monsters with Melee attacks are weakened because of the Thorns ability, they will end up hurting themselves when attacking your opponent's Monsters - Except Monsters with Reflection Shield ability.

These are the Melee Monsters with Reflection Shield ability that may also be powerful in Thorns

  • Venator Kinjo - Neutral

  • Tide Biter - Water

  • Corsair Bosun - Life

There are currently a few Monsters with Reflection Shield ability that you can use in the Silver league so the things you should expect your opponent may use in this ruleset are RANGE and MAGIC attacks.

  • Your opponent is afraid of using a Melee attack because of Thorns and will be more likely to use Range or Magic to win the match

In order to gain an advantage in this ruleset you need to counter all the possible attacks your opponent may use, as you already have the Thorns same as your opponent, you'll likely have to counter Range and Magic only.

Keep in mind that countering may not always a good choice and you should also consider having a huge amount of damage than your opponent instead of doing counterattacks.

In this case I used a full counterattacks

Here's my lineup, as you can see I have to use Lir Deepswimmer summoner that can counter Range attacks, Magic reflect Monsters that can counter Mage attacks, and you should always remember to put the following Monsters w/ Amplify to increase the Magic reflect, Return fire and Thorns.

  • River Nymph
  • Venari Spellsmith

Lobstradamus and Prismatic Energy are good enough to counter and kill your opponent's Magic attacks, as long as you have the Amplify to increase Reflect damage. Lobstradamus has also a Shield ability that can be good to reduce any Melee or Range attack, which will help him to survive even longer and sustain the damage.

If you know you are going to face a hard opponent, you might expect them to use Yodin, Valnamor, Renyn, Delwyn Dragonscale, and Kitty, although I don't recommend this lineup when Dragon, Life, and Earth are active. Someone that is handier when using them may have a better counter composition to beat you like Ueyuey, Kira1995, Schnapoon, and Dragonrider.

Here are some of the lineups commonly used at Silver in terms of the Briar Patch Ruleset

First, Yodin with Non-attack Monster in front (afraid of using Melee), Magic reflect, Silence, and Rangers at the back

Some players may prefer to use Ranges with the ability of Blast, they think that having a really powerful Summoner like Yodin will give them a juicy win and this is the common mistake some players I've seen in Silver, some don't even know that Kelya is more powerful than Yodin, of course, it still depends on players strategy but for me, I'd more prefer to pick Kelya.

2nd, Valnamor with the combination of Magics and Ranges and high speed, this one is my Top of line composition when using Water in 44 Mana but it can't win against my new composition😄

I'm using this lineup for a long time in Silver and even now, this composition still gives me a percentage of 90+ win rate! you can save and try it and see how it will work for you😉

This is just a first sample of this lineup and there is still a lot to consider when using this, but if you know how you're going to throw it on a proper and good situation battle, and know how to make some card replacement using this sample in a different scenario this lineup will give you a high percentage of winning against tough Silver players!

Just like how I replaced some cards here in a different Rule and Max mana

And lastly, always check and analyze your opponent's match history!

DeepSwimmer has a jaw split in two if you look closely. I just noticed it for the first time.

Exactly, if you dig deep on learning him you can find even more were you can make him much op as you wanted to. I learned him just only for countering Yodin spammers before but I learned a lot of what he can do when using him in a more different tactics!

This is a very nice strategy piece. I really like to try to overpower people in briar patch or when I suspect Mylor from my opponent. I will use Keyla and Tide Biter if I can and you're right amplify is a must!

Yes, Kelya and Tide Biter is a killer combination! I'm always have to have tide Biter as long as possible when my enemy are trying to use Yodin or Mylor. Tide Biter is sometimes my last man standing when I encountered Mylor😅
