Do away with Rift Watchers? | Splinterlands
In this video we discuss the new DAO proposal to burn 90% of unsold Rift Watcher packs over the next several weeks, and place the remaining 10% into the DAO for future promotions or plans. This of course will still allow several months for players to buy these packs if they desire and it will also provide a variety of benefits that I think we should consider. Let's discuss.

I don't have a lot of SPS, but I support this proposal. There seems that there is not enough demand for these packs. It is also because of the bear market, and most of us don't have much money to invest.
Some of the Riftwatchers cards are pretty cool, I don't have a full set yet, but I already have some cards I would like to grow in value. If this proposal passes, I may buy more packs with DEC before they run out.
It is a yes from me too! There are compelling arguments against, but ultimately I tend to agree with Yabapmatt.
Removing the overhang of RW packs will be beneficial for the game even if the DAO is suffering a loss of assets and the potential gains for an increase in demand will mostly go to players who already bought in.
The elephant in the room that nobody seems to talk about, but is one of the biggest incentives for buying these packs, AIR DROPS!!!
Pack investors need those cards. The game's strategic environment needs those cards. Market activity benefits from those cards.
Riddle me this: If there was a proposal to make the air drops timebound (like the burn schedule) and let the air drop bonus expire with the 6th was given out, would you reconsider your vote to just let the packs sit there in the DAO and serve as a $5 asset that backs up DEC value forever?
