I saw the opportunity and didn't let it slip away! Vicious Giraffe in my deck!

Good morning, everyone!

This is my first post, and I hope you like it.

A few days ago, I started searching the market for the crown jewel of my Conclave Arcana deck in Splinterlands, and finally yesterday, I decided to add it to my deck.

Why Vicious Giraffe?

First of all, because of the card's aesthetics. I think it's an exquisite design!

And secondly, because of its abilities.

Let’s start by analyzing the card's features:

  1. Mana
image.png– it's not a tank and isn't too "expensive" to summon.
  2. Melee Attack image.png– it may not seem like much, but the combination of cards and Archons, which are the new summoners of Conclave Arcana, can amplify this.
  3. Shield image.png– enough to absorb a couple of hits.
  4. Health image.png– seems quite high to me.
  5. Speed image.png– one of the first to attack.

Now that we know a bit more about the characteristics of the Vicious Giraffe, let's analyze its specific abilities and how they can help us in battles.

Abilities:

The first ability we encounter is:

  1. Reach image.png – available from level 1. This ability allows us to attack from the second position against the opposing card in the first position.

  2. Painforge image.png – available from level 3. This ability will grant +1 attack when the card is hit by "poison" or "burn," or when it is hit by one of its own cards.

  3. Shatter image.png – available from level 5, this ability will destroy all armor when Vicious Giraffe successfully hits.

  4. Shield Ward image.png – this ability will give the unit in front of Vicious Giraffe the Shield ability. Shield provides damage reduction from melee and ranged attacks.

Here are the different levels of the card:

Lastly, the Races or Bloodlines are very important moving forward with the new Archons. Vicious Giraffe falls under Mundane beast.

Now that we've looked at these abilities, let's see how we can combine them in battle to maximize their potential.

My first battle with Vicious Giraffe

Here’s the lineup:

In my first battle, I decided to use a summoner Tarsa, which offers +1 melee and +1 health. Being a fire summoner allows me to summon Vicious Giraffe.

This combination of Tarsa & Vicious Giraffe means that right from the start, Vicious Giraffe has 3 melee and 9 health.

Secondly, the ability of Vicious Giraffe, Shield Ward, gives the first card in my deck, Grum Flameblade, the Shield ability, making it significantly more powerful.

With Reach allowing it to attack from the second position and its great speed, it can be one of the first to attack. This way, it can destroy the shield of the first card in the other deck, leaving it exposed for an attack from Grum Flameblade.

On the other hand, in the third position of my deck, we have Kha'zi Conjurer, a card that costs very little mana (2) and is very powerful in ranged attacks (+4), but can damage adjacent units (incendiary ability). When it damages Vicious Giraffe, it will gain +1 melee and make our card even more powerful.

I look forward to your comments on this magnificent card!
