Hello all Hivers and Splinterlands friends, the subject of @steemmonsters weekly challenge is Crypt Beetle. A death element card. Let's take a closer look at it.
THE CARD
From the Splinterlands Lore:
Any explorer who delves too far into the crypts, mausoleums, and necropolises of the world will find an enemy they are not prepared for. Not the undead, not the liche, and not other monsters that can be found in the depths. Instead, he is told of the crypt beetles. Huge insects that are found feeding on the corpses inside. Most explorers think they are a mere nuisance and will try to scare them away from whatever tomb they choose to rob.
But things don't end well for these explorers. These large beetles will defend themselves and their food aggressively. And any explorer who makes it out alive will have some impressive scars to show for the bite of the crypt beetle.
In the darkness of the necropolis, the great crypt beetle moved across the stone floor. It made its way through the rows of tombs, searching for its next meal. He retraced the steps he often took into the emptiness and silence of the underground.
The crypt beetle stopped in front of a tomb, reared up on its hind legs and pushed off the lid. It fell heavily to the floor with an echoing slam.
A small scream of surprise and horror resounded from across the room. The crypt beetle turned around. A human stood there, face shocked, staring at the insect. When the beetle fully faced the intruder, the human turned and ran away in fear.
The crypt beetle returned to its meal.

THE LINE-UP
THE RULES OF COMBAT
Mana cap for battle set at 24 points. Only cards from the splinters: Earth, Life, Death and Dragon may be used.
LIMITATION: Healed Out: monsters with healing abilities cannot be used; Close Range: monsters with ranged attack can be used in first position.
MY DEPLOYMENT
Summoner of the Death element. Cost in Mana 4 points. Removes one life point and one magic attack point from the enemy line-up.
Cursed Winkedu is a Death element tank. Cost in Mana 6 points. Mana attack 2 points, Speed 3 points and 9 life points. Ability Spine: When attacked by a monster with a Meele attack, causes damage to the attacking monster.
Silent Sha-Vi. Cost in mana 5 points. 2 Meele Attack points, 3 speed points and 5 life points. Skill: Sneak (attacks the last opponent's monster instead of the first).
Venari Bonesmith: cost in Mana 4 points. Magic attack point, 2 speed points and 3 Life points. Skill: Bleed (gains health points each time he inflicts damage on an opposing monster).
THE PROTAGONIST OF THE WEEKLY BATTLE CHALLENGE.
Crypt Beetle has a mana cost of 3 points, 1 Meele attack point, 2 speed points, 2 armour points and 2 life points. Shield skill: suffers reduced damage from melee attack and ranged attack.
Undead Badger: Mana cost 2 points, melee attack 1 point, speed 3 points, and 1 life point. Skill Sneak: Attacks the last monster in the opponent's lineup instead of the first.
Corpse Fiend: cost in Mana 0 points, 1 point Meele attack, 2 points Speed and 1 point Life.
MY STRATEGY
Let's look at it point by point:
- Thaddius Brood's choice is simple: take away one Life point from the opponent and if necessary counter Summoners that give extra Magic Attack points, thanks to Thaddius' -1 Magic Attack.
- Cursed Winkedu in first position would attack the opponent and take the hits, going on to damage the attacking monsters with his Spine ability.
- Silent Sha-Vi in second position to take advantage of his Sneak skill and slowly take out the opponent's rear defences.
- Venari Bonesmith in third position because I wanted to protect him from attacks and thanks to his ability Sanguisuga he could take a few more Life points and resist a few more rounds before falling.
- Crypt Beetle in 4th position. The goal was to protect this card as long as possible, blocking it between 5 cards in total (3 before and 2 after). In this way I foresaw that if ever the need arose it would be decisive.
- Undead Badger in 5th position would give me an extra attack thanks to its Sneak ability.
- In last position Corpse Fiend would receive the attacks and fall with glory to protect 5th and 4th position.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?
I'd say so. Cursed Winkedu held its own while dealing damage to the opponent. Silent Sha-Vi wiped out the opponent's defences. Venari Bonesmith held on longer than necessary. But it was in the sixth round that the battle really took its turn! The star of this Weekly Battle Challenge, Crypte Beetle, was the decisive monster. The card you don't expect started bludgeoning the opposing monsters badly and led me to victory. Oddly enough, Corpse Fiend and Undead Badger also held up better than expected. This definitely put me in an advantageous situation over my opponent. A great Match for a great protagonist: **Crypt Beetle.
I have to tell you the truth, when I got to round 6 I was a bit sceptical about my possible victory, but if you watch the whole match you'll realise that something sensational happened with Crypt Beetle, honestly I had underestimated him a bit but in fact he's a good card that if boosted in level can say its without a shadow of a doubt! My fears were also due to the fact that I was up against a Splinter Heart and when I saw Obsidian lined up as a Summoner I was a bit scared, but Thaddius countered her very well and this was also part of my strategy: cancel the +1 Magic attack of Obsidian!

Summoner dell'elemento Morte. Costo in Mana 4 punti. Toglie un punto vita e un punto attacco magico allo schieramento nemico.
Cursed Winkedu è un tank dell'elemento Morte. Costo in Mana 6 punti. Attacco Meele 2 punti, Velocità 3 punti e 9 punti vita.
Silent Sha-Vi. Costo in mana 5 punti. 2 punti Meele Attack, 3 punti velocità e 5 punti vita. Abilità: Sneak ( attacca l'ultimo mostro avversario invece del primo).
Venari Bonesmith: costo in Mana 4 punti. ! punto attacco magico, 2 punti velocità e 3 punti Vita.
Undead Badger: Costo in mana 2 punti, attacco Meele 1 punto, velocità 3 punti e 1 punto vita. Abilità Sneak: attacca l'ultimo mostro dello schieramento avversario invece del primo.
Corpse Fiend: costo in Mana 0 punti, 1 punto attacco Meele, 2 punti Velocità e 1 punto Vita.
- Crypt Beetle in 4 posizione.

Thanks for sharing! - @mango-juice
liked your effort but copying the Lore 2 times in different languages to imcrease the post isn't a good approach 🙂
I did not put the lore in two languages to increase the post but simply to offer a translation also for the Italian language. Anyway I thank you for the advice, next time I won't put it and maybe I'll invent something else :) @steemmonsters @mango-juice
You may also write your own version of creative lore :) It's just that we encourage people to be creative with their splinterlands posts and many just copy paste the lore section just to increase the word count. :)
I understand what you mean, next time I will try to do something original instead of inserting the lore ;) thanks for the advice
