#Splinterlands daily battle levels have returned to near pre-change levels. But why? One of our users had an interesting insight:

Bot farms burned their ECR trying to collect rewards cards before the soulbound change.

This explains why battles dropped for 4 days and then returned to near normal levels - the bot farms were waiting for their ECR to recover.

I guess that shows that 2/3rds of players are bot farms?

Yup. Or at least 2/3rds of battles themselves. The number of people running farms is potentially discoverable but not a number I'm specifically familiar with. (Meaning how many people are behind the 2/3rds of battles done by farms)

Now, however, Daily Battles have risen to near pre-change numbers, Indicating that these bot farms came back online, also indicating they have a a long-term view of the game. (And aren't simply here to extract).

The ability to churn and burn (ie extract) is essentially gone at this point (or at least drastically reduced)… so they're farming with a Long-term belief in the game.

While Daily battles have risen from their post change low's, they are still about 25% lower than before the soulbound rewards change, indicating the change may still be having an effect.
