Only monsters with ranged attack may be used in battles.

Hi, today I'm about to write a post featuring a battle in Going the Distance ruleset from analyzing a top battle from gold league in modern format.

The battle that I'm about to analyze was between Mythic534 and Pero82 where Mythic534 won the battle.

A little info about the battle:

With Quix the Devious as summoner, Mythic534 used six monsters which are: Queen of Crows, Naga Assassin, Runic Skyclaw, Lira the Dark, Ravenhood Warden, Raa.

And with Ilthain as summoner, Pero82 also used six monsters which are: Hero of Beyond, War Pegasus, Silvershield Sheriff, Lone Boatman, Prismologist, Pelacor Arbalest.

Neutral monsters were not allowed in this battle and only ranged attackers were allowed in this battle. Melee, Magic and everything from Neutral elements were prohibited for this battle.

Pero82 chose Ilthain as summoner that added 1 speed to all its monsters and also gave all of them the return fire ability and this is where this user did awesome as the battle could have only ranged battles so now all monsters of Pero82 could return half the damage to every attacks of the opponent team.

Quix the Devious of Mythic534 removed the extra speed that the opponent monsters got from their summoner and also removed one ranged attack from all opponent monsters which was a nice move as well as there are only ranged attackers on the opponent team.

Then Silvershield Sheriff of Pero82 used protect ability to give +2 armor to all friendly monsters and then Queen of Crows of Mythic534 reduced the ranged attack of all enemy units by 1 so three monsters of Pero82 lost one more attack each. Queen of Crows reduced a speed of all enemy monsters as well. Then Lira the Dark increased one speed of all friendly monsters by 1.

Ravenhood Warden of Mythic534 protected all enemy monsters giving them +2 armor each. I see both team did great in selecting summoner and monsters.

The Battle

Lira the Dark of Mythic534 attacked first for having the greater speed and that attack landed on Lone Boatman of Pero82 where the boatman lost two armor and the boatman returned two damage and Lira lost two armor for this damage as well.

Then Naga Assassin of Mythic534 attacked Hero of Beyond of Pero82 where the hero lost its two armor and returned one damage where the naga lost one armor and then Runic Skyclaw of Mythic534 attacked War Pegasus of Pero82 where the defendant lost four health with this only hit and tried to return the favor and sent some damage as well but Runic Skyclaw evaded this attack for having flying ability.

They kept attacking each other and the targeted monsters of Pero82 kept returning damages. In the meantime, Raa of Mythic534 did a double attack on two different opponent monsters and Pelacor Arbalest of Pero82 also did a double attack on Queen of Crows. Then Loan Boatman of missed his target on Naga Assassin for nothing it seemed that activated Naga Assassin's backfire ability and the boatman lost two health.

In a new round, Lira the Dark was succeeded in killing an opponent monster, War Pegasus died and did a return ranged damage before leaving the field. Then after some more attacks here and there, Raa attacked and killed Silvershield Sheriff with the first attack and then killed three health of Prismologist with the second attack and the attacker itself lost four health for these attacks.

Then Ravenhood Warden attacked and killed the hero of Pero82. Pelacor Arbalest and Prismologist of Pero82 attacked and killed four health of Queen of Crows with three damage and Prismologist did blast damage as well.

In the next round, Lira the Dark killed Lone Boatman and Naga Assassin killed Prismologist where both attackers lost two health each for taking return damage and now the victory of Mythic534 was confirm as the other team had only one monster and that too stopped attacking reaching the front position. Then monsters of Mythic534 started attacking the last monster of Pero82 and it needed three more turns to get killed.

So, yeah Raa of Mythic534 did the last attack and went for victory and the strategy went great.
