NFT Game - Splinterlands Play to Earn - Renting tips - Gold Foil

I think the most common strategy when renting Splinterlands cards that we will use for the battle is to rent the Cheapest cards available base on their level.

But what do we really mean by cheap? Does cheap means you look for the cheapest available rental Card in the Market place or do you pay less for more BCX?

Maybe Some of you don't consider this, but because I am thrifty, what cheap means to me is when I get more.

Example:
Card A with 5 BCX = 1 DEC / day
Card B with 10 BCX = 1.5 DEC/ day

In this example, I find Card B much cheaper than card A because I get more BCX in card B.

DEC Value

When calculating your rental expense, don't look at it as DEC, convert the DEC amount to Fiat value first. 1000 DEC looks much but if you compute its real value, that is only ₱42 or $.71 (computed at ₱0.04263297/DEC).

If we focus on the qty of DEC we spend, our mind will tell us that we are spending too much.

Regular Foil vs Gold Foil

When looking for cards to rent, I always check their price on both regular and gold foil. This system might not apply to all cards but it applies to most.

Example
Regular Foil Gargoya Devil LVL 10 2598 BCX - rental fee = 5.20/day
Gold Foil Gargoya Devil LVL 10 4987 BCX - rental fee = 5.95/ day

By paying a few more DEC, you get almost the double BCX for only 5.95 DEC per day.

If you will take your time to check the price between the regular and gold foil, you will find cheaper deals.

Check the following screenshots for more examples and decide which is cheaper.

If you are using a mobile phone, this will be hard for you, but since I am using a laptop, I just open 2 windows, one showing regular foils and the other showing gold foils.

If the card is more expensive in Gold Foil, I settle for regular foil, if it's just a little difference, I'll still pick the Gold Foil.

Note:

Using Gold foil gives you additional 20% reward points when winning a battle.

I believe GFs give you 10% per card used in the battle, not 20% as you mentioned.
