Splinterlands Card Renting: Gold or Regular Foil

When renting Splinterlands cards, what type of foil do you prefer? Do you rent Gold Foil Cards, which give you additional rewards, or do you just rent ordinary cards?

When we think about Gold Foil Cards, the usual thing that comes to mind is that they are expensive to rent. So, what we often do is just rent Ordinary Foil cards, which don't provide additional earnings.

However, that is not always the case. Most of the time, it is actually cheaper to rent Gold Foil Cards. Yes, there may be a price difference, but it is relatively small.

When you calculate the additional earnings from using Gold Foil Cards, they can easily cover the price difference of the rent.

There are also cases where Regular Foil Cards are more expensive than Gold Foil Cards. It's not always the case, but most of the time, the price difference is negligible.

If you always check the price difference before renting, you'll notice that the variation is just a few DEC tokens, which is not substantial when converted to fiat currency.

Here is another example of how affordable Gold Foil cards are and why you should consider renting them instead of renting regular Foil Cards.

With a little price difference, I'd rather rent Gold Foil Cards that gives me 20% Reward Bonuses rather than Ordinary Foil Cards.

I always check the price every time I rent, and I only rent Regular Foil cards if the Gold Foil Rental Price is too high.
