Fight the Chaos Legion FOMO!

So yesterday saw the release of vouchers and pre-sale packs of the new Splinterlands Card Deck Choas Legion.
If you were keeping an eye on the discord and twitter and various other socials, you would have seen complete madness. It was like christmas eve for 5 year old.
But with anything that involves money and assets, there are always winners and losers.
The losers (in the sense that they lost) are the ones that didn't have enough SPS staked and were therefore getting next to no vouchers. I am one of those. But hey. that's the way it goes.
The winners were the ones that had a bucket load of SPS staked and will be pulling in vouchers by the dozens on a daily basis.
Vouchers mean you can buy the packs. 1 voucher + a little money and bang. You are the proud owner of a new pack of cards. Awesome. The best thing however is that you are now eligable for a 2% chance of each of the bonus airdrop cards that get released everytime the next 1 million decks get sold.
This has caused a massive amount of FOMO. Got to get me those packs. Got to get me those vouchers.

Ok. So this is where it gets a little silly.

1. People are selling their vouchers on the open market for stupidly hight prices.
2. People are buying those vouchers for stupidly high prices

I can understand this and i myself will be buying the odd voucher here and there, but i will wait until the price drops. The price will drop. It's all about supply and demand.
There will be a total of 1 million vouchers dropped over the next 36 days. Those vouchers corrospond to 1 million packs being available. The reason the price is so high on the first couple of days is because the demand far outweighs the supply. only 33,000 per day. Let's face it, everyone wanted the packs, so everyone had to buy the vouchers. Hell i'd put the price up too if people were willing to buy them.
As the days progress, more and more of those 1 million vouchers will be dropped and soon the supply will outweigh the demand. That's when the price will drop.

Remeber. Here is what the vouchers give you.

1. The ability to buy a pack
2. Buying a pack in the presale gives you that 2% chance of receiving that bonus airdrop

Once you have a pack, you have that chance. But here is what i don't understand and what is baffling me.
people are using the vouchers to buy a pack and then listing the pack itself on the open market for stupid prices and people are buying them. WTF?
Why? Why would you buy a pack for $25 which will not entitle you to the airdrop bonus as the pack has to be purchased through the splinterlands marketplace to qualify for that.
You can simply wait until after the pre-sale and get yourself a pack for $4. Less if you pay with SPS.
You could essentially get yourself 5 packs for the cost of what you paid for 1. If anyone has done this, please comment below and let me know why. Because to me, it's a little irrational.

So fight the FOMO ladies and germs.
If you really want the packs and are not concerned with the airdrop, just wait. You can get 5 times as many packs after the pre-sale as you would now.
If you really want the 2% chance of that airdrop, then buy a voucher, buy a pack with that voucher, then sell the pack on the market. You may lose a couple of bucks, but you'd have that chance at the airdrop. Then just buy more packs after the pre-sale.

Money certainly makes many people do very strange things. Especially if the masses believe they are actually going to be missing out on something.
