How will water Splinter in Modern Format?

We all know that soon Splinterlands will be separated into 2 game modes, on the one hand the Modern format and on the other the Wild, at first glance it does not seem to be a big thing but if you analyze it you will realize that this will change the game completely, today I will do a review of Splinter Water for the Modern format, just like I did recently with the Death Splinter

These two formats consist of a division of the cards that can be used in each one, looking like this:
Modern: Untamed + Dice + Chaos Legion
Wildcard: all cards.
(Promo cards from Modern format editions can also be used on this one.)

So to break this down, I'm going to focus on those three editions of U+D+CL.

Todos sabemos que pronto Splinterlands se separará en 2 modos de juego, por un lado el formato Moderno y por otro el Salvaje, a simple vista no parece ser algo grande pero si lo analizas te darás cuenta que este cambiará el juego por completo, hoy haré un análisis de Splinter Water para el formato Moderno, igual que hice recientemente con el Splinter de muerte
Estos dos formatos consisten en una división de las cartas que se pueden utilizar en cada uno, quedando así:
Moderno: Untamed + Dice + Chaos Legion
Salvaje: todas las cartas.
(En esta también se pueden usar tarjetas promocionales de las ediciones de formato Moderno).
Entonces, para analizar esto, me voy a centrar en esas tres ediciones de U+D+CL.

KELYA FRENDUL,THE SUMMONER

Kelya brings +1 to speed and +1 to shield which makes her a good summoner to counter melee and ranged attacks plus the extra point of speed added to the fact that the water splinter generally has fast cards can help dodge these attacks. In addition, one of the airdrop cards brought us a great tank to counter magic that makes this splinter much stronger as we will analyze later.

Kelya aporta +1 en velocidad y +1 en escudo lo que la convierte en un buen invocador para contrarrestar ataques cuerpo a cuerpo y de rango además el punto extra de velocidad sumado a que el splinter de agua tiene en general cartas rapidas puede ayudar a esquivar estos ataques. Además una de las cartas de airdrop nos trajo un grandioso tanque para contrarrestar magia que vuelve mucho mas fuerte a este splinter como analizaremos mas adelante.

With that amount of cards there is already a great possibility of combinations y me parece el splinter más versatil para numerosas estrategias, but as the cards level up and gain more skills the possibilities become infinite, the element in general is quite strong but there are certainly cards that will shine much more than others in the Meta, and it is because they are very high in level compared to the rest.

Con esa cantidad de cartas ya hay una gran posibilidad de combinaciones y me parece el splinter más versatil para numerosas estrategias, pero a medida que las cartas suben de nivel y ganan más habilidades las posibilidades se vuelven infinitas, el elemento en general es bastante fuerte pero ciertamente hay cartas que van a brillar mucho más que otras en el Meta, y es que tienen un nivel muy alto en comparación con el resto.

SPEED AND DODGE

Flying Squid

Flying Squid is a fairly fast card, which reaches up to 5 points of speed, added to the speed provided with Kelya, it would reach up to 6 points, which also learns blindness at level 6 and backfire at the last level, which makes it a very powerful card in case to dodge a mele or ranged attack, and has a large amount of health, which in some cases can be used as a tank, although its ideal position is in the second position with the reach ability.

Flying Squid es una carta bastante rapida, que alcanza hasta 5 puntos de velocidad sumados a la velocidad aportada con Kelya alcanzaria hasta los 6 puntos, que además a nivel 6 aprende ceguera y en último nivel backfire lo cual la vuelve una carta muy poderosa en caso de esquivar un ataque mele o de rango, y dispone de una gran cantidad de vida, lo que en algunos casos se puede usar de tanque, aunque su posición ideal es en la segunda posición con la habilidad alcanzar.

Deeplurker

Deeplurker seems to me to be the best common card of the edition, very fast, with a lot of physical attack, which also has opportunity and poison from the gold league, it is very powerful especially in the bronze, silver and gold league, but it also reduces the melee damage at its maximum level.

Deeplurker me parece la mejor carta comun de la edición, muy rapida, con mucho ataque fisico, que además tiene oportunidad y veneno a partir de la liga oro, es muy poderosa sobre todo en liga de bronce, plata y oro, pero además reduce el daño cuerpo a cuerpo en su nivel máximo.

River Nymph

River Nymph is not a very fast card in itself, but this card is important because at maximum level it increases the speed of the team by one more point, in addition to eliminating the negative states of the tank as well as providing the ability to amplify.

River Nymph no es una carta muy rapida en si misma, pero esta carta es imortante por que a nivel maximo nos aumenta un punto mas la velocidad del equipo, además de eliminar los estados negativos del tanque así como aportar la habilidad amplificar

Supply Runner

Supply Runner is another card that from Silver increases speed to allies, with river Nymph and Kelya all monsters would have +3 speed, it would be surprising if any Melee or Ranged attacks manage to hit you like that, the weakness of this combination is clearly the Magic. Another negative point is that it works from gold rank, and as positive points, you can continue combining it with cards like Baakjira and Scavo Hireling that also have Slow, and the Flying Squid that blinds the enemy and there sure nobody is going to touch you.

Supply Runner es otra carta que desde Silver aumenta la velocidad a los aliados, con river Nymph y Kelya todos los monstruos tendrían +3 de velocidad, sería sorprendente si algún ataque Melee o Ranged logra golpearte así, la debilidad de este La combinación es claramente la magia. Otro punto negativo es que funciona desde rango oro, y como puntos positivos, puedes seguir combinándolo con cartas como, Baakjira y Scavo Hireling que también tienen Lento, y el Flying Squid que pone Blind al enemigo y ahí seguro que nadie te va a tocar.

Phantom Abyss

Phantom Abyss if the mana allows it seems to me the most essential card for this strategy, with 6 base speed, combined with the rest of the cards mentioned above, it is impossible to hit a melee or ranged hit, it can be put as a tank for evade ranged damage for example against Zaku, or you can put it last in the assassin game rule. As disadvantages, it is a card with a high mana cost, in addition to being weak to magic damage.

Phantom Abyss si el mana lo permite me parece la carta mas imprescindible para esta estrategia, con 6 de velocidad base, combinada con el resto de cartas mencionadas anteriormente, es imposible acertar un golpe cuerpo a cuerpo o de rango, se puede poner como tanque para evadir daño de rango por ejemplo contra Zaku, o se puede poner el ultimo en la regla de partida de asesino. Como desventajas es una carta de un alto coste de mana, además de que es débil al daño mágico.

ANTI-MAGIC

One of the new airdrop cards introduced Baakjira, for me one of the best tanks in the game, a magic tank, but he has a lot of life, with self-healing, low opponent speed, and a maximum level if used with another card that increases 1 point of life can heal 5 points of life per turn, if we use it with another healer, such as Meerdali Guardian, it could heal up to 10 points of life per turn.

Una de las nuevas cartas de airdrop introdujo a Baakjira, para mi uno de los mejores tanques del juego, tanque magico, pero que tiene mucha vida, con autocuración, baja velocidad al rival, y a nivel maximo si se usa con otra carta que aumente 1 punto de vida puede curarse 5 puntos de vida por turno, si la usamos con otro healer, como por ejemplo Meerdali Guardian, podria llegar a curar hasta 10 puntos de vida por turno.

Djinn Oshannus

One of the strongest cards of the Water Splinter, Djinn Oshannus, although with the release of so many new legendaries it has gone into the background, it still seems to me one of the best as a magic tank, in addition, it deals magic damage, it is fast , has a phase, and the force field ability, which reduces to 1 any damage of 5 or more, which can also make it sometimes serve as a tank for cards with a lot of melee damage, such as fire splinter.

Una de las cartas mas fuertes del Splinter de agua, Djinn Oshannus, aunque con la salida de tantos nuevos legendarios ha pasado aun segundo plano, a mi me sigue pareciendo una de las mejores como tanque de magia, además, hace daño magico, es rapida, tiene fase, y la habilidad campo de fuerza, que reduce a 1 cualquier daño de 5 o mas, lo que tambien puede hacer en algunas ocasiones que sirva de tanque para cartas de mucho daño cuerpo a cuerpo, como las de splinter de fuego

Angelic Mandarin

This card is the water card that reduces magic damage from the water splinter, although its disadvantage is that it can only be used at maximum level, but it also gives us triage, if we combine it with Elven Mystic, a neutral untamed card, we can get up to -2 magic damage and together with Baakjira or other magic tanks make it very difficult for Obsidian and the earth element.

Esta carta es la carta de agua que reduce daño magico del splinter de agua, aunque su desventaja es que solo se puede usar en nivel maximo, pero además nos aporta triaje, si la combinamos con Elven Mystic, carta neutral de untamed, podemos obtener hasta un -2 de daño magico y junto con Baakjira u otros tanques magicos ponerselo muy dificil a Obsidian y el elemento tierra.

FULL MELEE

River Hellondale

The new legendary Hellondale, gives us an increase in melee attack +1 which, added to the Demented Shark, we could start with a +2 melee attack, which gives us the possibility of using the water splinter also as a mallet of mele attack which can make it quite powerful.

La nueva legendaria Hellondale, nos aporta un aumento en ataque cuerpo a cuerpo +1 lo que sumado al Demented Shark, podríamos iniciar con un +2 de ataque cuerpo cuerpo, lo que nos da la posibilidad de utilizar el splinter de agua también como un mazo de ataque mele que lo puede volver bastante poderoso.

DiemonShark

Este tanque mele tiene una combinación de habilidades que lo pueden volver muy poderoso, pisotear, enfurecer y represalias, que sumado a que podemos tener un +2 de ataque fisico con las cartas mencionadas anteriormente, se puede volver imparable en reglas como por ejemplo pisotear infinito.

Pelacor Bandit

Pelacor Bandit seems to me to be one of the best reward cards, if combined with the previous cards, in addition to having low mana, if combined with other cards with the sneak ability like uraueus, they can do a lot of damage to the opponent's rear.

Pelacor Bandit me parece uno de las mejores cartas rewards, si se combina con las cartas anteriores, además de tener un bajo mana, si se junta con otras cartas con la habilidad sneak como uraueus, pueden hacer mucho daños a la retaguardia del rival.

CONCLUSION

I know that I have left many cards without mentioning that I find interesting such as Kulu Swimhunter, Igor Darkspear but I just wanted to show some examples of the versatility that the water splinter offers for the modern format and why it seems to me practically the best along with the dragons.

Se que me he dejado muchas cartas sin mencionar que me parecen interesantes como Kulu Swimhunter, Igor Darkspear pero solo queria mostrar algunos ejemplos la versatilidad que ofrece el splinter de agua para el formato moderno y por que me parece practicamente el mejor junto con los dragones.

The inclusion of modern format will change the game a lot for sure, but it will also help new players going forward. Otherwise the ones that started when the game launch would be at an advantage way to big to overcome.

Which element do you think will be the strongest in the first modern season?

I am quite anxious precisely for that reason, playing only with CL and some untamed with all the cards is quite hard, there are some combinations of Beta cards that are very difficult to overcome, in my opinion Dragon, water, death, fire, earth and life in the absence of the legendary summoners, but in the end it is a somewhat subjective issue, because each one adapts in a different way to the cards or combinations offered by each splinter.

Now I'm improving my water splint to be competitive in silver league. And... the pelacor bandit is one of the most underrated cards in the game. The Cruel Sethropod is another must have card IMO.
