The Sweet Spot of Pack Supply

Under Supplied, Over Supplied

I hear it said that Chaos was over supplied.

Maybe. Maybe Not.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Especially, in light of the volatility of the marketplace.

Today's oversupply might be tomorrow's grace.
Who knows? Maybe a project will arrive that will gobble up cards.
Then the squeaky "Wen" wheel will groan about the lack of cards available.

Too few, cards makes the game unaccessible. Too many, and people cry, "Foul!".

How do you manage supply?

Every real world TCG Game overprinted their sets during that time.
I bought a box of 1st Edition Monarch, from the Flesh & Blood Game, and it isn't worth the Wholsale price I paid for it.

So, having the ability to "burn" digitally, maybe saved the day.

Maybe, the level of FIAT printing stimulate the level of Pack Printing?

Let the Market Decide

Why does there have to be a hard cap on the number of packs?

We are in a Digital Market. Supply is easy to manage.
The "burning" of packs can leave a salty residue.

But what if we add a level of uncertainty?

In @thepeoplesguild recent podcast, with @walkingkeys, they covered the idea of releasing a certain number of packs per day - sating the demand with a slow release of dopamine.

Or, how about the idea of time-limits, where a series stays on for a period of time. That makes a set line in the sand. The Supply level will be dictated by the Demand. The FOMO might be enough to get the "Sweet Spot".

@walkingkeys brought up ideas beyond just pack selling. He provided real world NFT examples of doing things in a totally different way.
Such as, regular packs and collector packs, or exclusivity, to provide Skins and so forth.

Too Many Cards is Better than Too Few

I came across an old post by @goldmatters
Old in Crypto Years - 2019!

Here, he pointed to the
"The Most Expensive Digital Card Game Team in History? ($6400)"

When you have a mintage that is so low, that the game will die from constriction.
Yes, we want asset growth. However, do we really want to make the walls to play unassailable?

Many of the cards used in this match, are so cornered and low mintage, that they are technically, Priceless!

I'd rather have game longevity than short term Ego stroking.

Turn The Page

@Splinterlands is a Gift!

Every stage.
Every step.
Every change.

Is the crisp, page turn, of a living story being told.

We, are both, the Antagonist and Protagonist.
The Hero and Villain.

I hope I am feeling, an ounce, of the excitement that those who played at the beginning, felt!

Just an Ounce.

Can you feel the turning of the pages?
