*There. High above, a silhouette against the sun. The Chaos Dragon exhaled a breath of necrotic energy. The little gnat dove through the sky, narrowly avoiding the attack. It fired two fireballs at the dragon. More pain.

Hello Splinterfam!

Today I will be sharing with you an awesome battle that showcases an outstanding performance from Runic Skyclaw! I must tell you that I, too, was surprised by how this battle turned out because I lost hope and skipped the last rounds only to find out I won. I had to replay it to see what happened and guess what? I gave our friend Runic Skyclaw a round of applause.

Stats

Before I go on with the battle, let me share Runic Skyclaw's impressive stats. A high-speed Dragon monster that would be best used in High Mana Battles together with Slow, Swiftness, Blind and even Phase when paired with Sthispa. Even more impressive as the level increases as it gets Reflection Shield at Level 5 and an additional Giant Killer ability when maxed out.

The Battlefield

Our MVP being lowkey at the back line
Ruleset:
• 99 Mana Cap
• Even Stevens
• Close Range
• Available Splinters: Fire, Water, Earth, Death & Dragon

This is easily Quix for me since 99 mana cap always whispers "Dragon" to my ears if it's available since most dragon monsters are high mana. While this might look like an uneven battle due to the level of the summoners, the legendary cards used are all at level 1. Yes, other monsters in my team are in higher levels but the MVP... is also at Level 1. I think we could focus on that because this beast bagged a Triple Kill in a 1v3 situation!

The Strategy

Since the ruleset includes Close Range, I was thinking that Quix might be the perfect as my opponent might take advantage of this rule but I was not surprised to see them pick the same summoner.

I would not normally use low level cards for the league, in this case silver, but due to the unavailability of cards with odd mana, I had to pick level 1 Riftwatchers legendary cards and other cards with more damage to deal.

I purposely placed Runic Skyclaw at the back to prepare for sneak monsters as it has a high chance of dodging the attacks due to its flying ability and exceptional speed at level 1, not knowing it would be the very key to this victory.

The Battle

Everything was going well until this moment. This was the part where I completely lost hope and decided to just skip to the results only to find out I actually won the battle.

So hit replay and watched til the end. To my surprise, Runic Skyclaw was the actual MVP of the battlefield in this match!

Our MVP, the Runic Skyclaw, with only 3 HP left managed to survive from Round 8 until Round 13 and even gave us the win! How could I not share this?!
