Seven months have passed since I started playing Splinterlands and all this time I have been wandering between the Bronze and Silver leagues. In my opinion, moving up to the Gold League did not compensate for the expense I had to make.

Siete meses han pasado desde que empecé a jugar a Splinterlands y todo este tiempo he ido deambulando entre las ligas Bronce y Plata. A mi parecer, subir a Liga Oro no compensaba el gasto que tenía que realizar.

So the months went by and I was receiving rewards but I could not find the motivation to continue evolving and climbing positions in search of new challenges.

Así que los meses iban pasando e iba recibiendo recompensas pero no encontraba la motivación para seguir evolucionando y escalando posiciones en búsqueda de nuevos retos.

But the new system that Splinterlands has incorporated in the rewards is like a breath of fresh air for the game and has made me rethink my way of playing. Now it is worth renting and moving up leagues to get some good rewards.

Pero el nuevo sistema que ha incorporado Splinterlands en las recompensas es como un soplo de aire fresco para el juego y me han hecho replantearme mi forma de jugar. Ahora sí, merece la pena alquilar e ir ascendiendo de ligas para obtener unas buenas recompensas.

Step 1 - Rent the necessary power

I wanted to test to see what rewards I was going to get by being in better leagues. So the first thing I did was to win battles until I reached the rating enough to be in Silver III, at the moment it is the power I have in property.

Quería hacer la prueba de comprobar que recompensas iba a conseguir estando en mejores ligas. Así que lo primero que hice fue ir ganando batallas hasta alcanzar el rating suficiente para estar en Plata III, de momento es el poder que tengo en propiedad.

I wanted to keep moving up the leagues, nothing was going to stop me. The new reward system was very addictive and I was eager to see how far I could go, so the next step was to go to https://peakmonsters.com/rentals and automatically set up the rental.

Step 2 - Rent the necessary equipment according to the Focus

Once the necessary Power was obtained to move up to Gold League III, the next step was to get the necessary Rating to move up the league.

Una vez obtenido el Poder necesario para subir a Liga Oro III, el siguiente paso era ir consiguiendo el Rating necesario para ascender de liga.

From Silver III to Silver I was a breeze, all fast and smooth with the cards I had in my collection along with the ones I usually have rented. But the time came, I had achieved the Rating and Power to upgrade to Gold, what was I going to do, continue playing in Silver or take the leap and see how I was doing as a rookie in Gold?

De Plata III a Plata I fue coser y canta, todo rápido y sin problema con las cartas que tenía en mi colección junto con las que suelo tener alquiladas. Pero llegó el momento, había conseguido el Rating y el Poder para ascender a Oro. ¿Qué iba a hacer?, ¿seguir jugando en Plata o dar el salto y ver como me iba siendo un novato en Oro?

It was clear to me, I wanted more and better rewards. I had been suffering for months from the lousy rewards of potions and few decs and the lack of good cards (I haven't gotten a legendary for 3 months). So I clicked the button to upgrade to Gold, there was no turning back.

Lo tenía claro, quería más recompensas y mejores. Llevaba meses sufriendo las pésimas recompensas de pócimas y pocos decs y la falta de buenas cartas (llevo 3 meses sin conseguir una legendaria). Así que pulsé el botón de ascender a Oro, ya no había vuelta atrás.

For the Gold League I focused on renting the cheapest summoners that were at the maximum level in the League. And the common and rare cards at their maximum level as well. For epic and legendary cards if the price was affordable I rented at their maximum level, if not I rented at lower levels. I didn't want to go crazy renting cards and be left with hardly any DEC in my account.

Para Liga Oro me centré en alquilar a los invocadores más económicos que estuvieran al máximo de nivel en la Liga. Y las cartas comunes y raras a su máximo de nivel también. Para las cartas épicas y legendarias si el precio era accesible la alquilaba a su máximo nivel, sino alquilaba a niveles más bajos. Gold League III and II, the real good stuff begins

After many months enduring boring and monotonous battles in the Silver League, I find myself in the Gold League and this is a different world. Here it is no longer enough to always choose the same cards. You have to study the enemy's strategy in their last games. Decide which cards are better and why and all this in just a few minutes.

Después de muchos meses aguantando batallas aburridas y monótonas en liga Plata, me encuentro en Liga Oro y esto es otro mundo. Aquí ya no vale elegir siempre las mismas cartas. Hay que estudiar la estrategia del enemigo en sus últimas partidas. Decidir que cartas son mejores y porqué y todo esto en tan solo unos minutos.

Among all the Focus that I could get I have avoided Splinter Fuego because I'm not a big fan of it and I barely know how to use it and I don't have any cards.

De entre todos los Focus que podían salirme he evitado el Splinter Fuego ya que no soy muy fan de él y además apenas se usarlo y no tengo cartas.

I have focused on playing with Water, Earth, Life and Death. Of all of them I must admit that the Splinter that has impressed me the most at high Leagues is Life. At high levels it has a wide variety of creatures to play with and some of them are really powerful.

Me he centrado en jugar con Agua, Tierra, Vida y Muerte. De todos ellos debo admitir que el Splinter que más me ha impresionado en Ligas altas es el de Vida. A niveles altos tiene una gran variedad de criaturas con las que jugar y algunas de ellas son realmente poderosas.

I recommend the combination of Adelade Brightwing and Uriel the Purifier, I loved playing with them. The battles are very dynamic and the enemy must lose their nerves seeing how Uriel the Purifier does not end up dying thanks to his healing at level 2 and the shield regeneration and resurrect that Adelade Brightwing offers.

Os recomiendo la combinación de Adelade Brightwing y Uriel the Purifier, me ha encantado jugar con ellos. Las batallas son muy dinámicas y el enemigo debe de perder los nervios viendo como Uriel the Purifier no termina de morir gracias a su curación a nivel 2 y la regeneración de escudo y resucitar que ofrece Adelade Brightwing.

In this battle I face an opponent with the summoner Byzantine Kitty and Kron the Undying. Everything foreshadowed a defeat but the magical power of my creatures turn the game around.

Another battle in which my opponent plays a legendary summoner, this time Yodin Zaku himself. My attacking power and the shield offered to me by Venari Wavesmith make me win this game.

I was already missing someone using Scarred Llama Mage but this time the poor guy didn't get it the way he wanted. It's very risky to play with a single creature because what happens in this battle can happen. It doesn't give him enough time to heal from the damage received.

Conclusion

Honestly, I've really enjoyed playing in Gold League even though I haven't seen any benefit in the rewards since I finished in Silver the previous season and all the chests I've opened have been Silver.

Sinceramente, he disfrutado mucho jugando en Liga Oro aunque no he visto ningún beneficio en las recompensas ya que acabé en Plata la temporada anterior y todos los cofres que he abierto han sido de Plata.

I don't know if I will be able to keep renting to stay in Gold, since we are at the end of the season and I see how little by little they are canceling all the rentals I made.

No se si podré aguantar alquilando para mantenerme en Oro, ya que estamos al final de temporada y veo como poco a poco me están cancelando todos los alquileres que hice.

Anyway, it has been an experience that I recommend to all new players of Splinterlands, playing at these levels is something else, the game gains emotion and the battles are much more strategic.

De todas formas, ha sido una experiencia que recomiendo a todos los jugadores novatos de Splinterlands, jugar a estos niveles es otra cosa, el juego gana emoción y las batallas son mucho más estratégicas.

I hope I can keep trying, for the moment the goal is still to accumulate power and gradually improve the collection for when the time comes.
