Experiencing Splinterland gaming

You know that adrenaline rush when you're watching a football game with friends and your team or club makes a win after you thought they would disappoint you. Yeah, those who watch football can relate to this feeling any time of the day. And that's the exact feeling I felt after winning three battles in a role today. Honestly, I'm not so into games, but since I encountered the Splinterland game, I must say it's becoming an addiction.

When I first heard about the Splinterland game, I thought it was so difficult, so I avoided it most of the time, but curiosity got the best of me when my coach, @uyobong introduced the basic steps on how to play the games.

But first, what is Splinterland?

Splinterland is an online collectable card game where players trade, collect, and battle. It also uses the power of Web3 and Hive Blockchain to create a unique experience for the players or gamers. When playing Splinterland, players are allowed to be completely strategic while using their digital and collectable cards. All cards are traded transparently on the blockchain, even on decentralized marketplaces because all the cards are NFTs. The Splinterland game is more like a chess game or like playing poker; it is the most entertaining and addicting game online. And all you just need are strategy cards, where you pick your summoners, monsters, and place them in their positions, and they are ready to battle.

My first battle for today.

Picking a summoner, I knew I had to be careful because the summoner abilities determine how far the monsters can go in battle. After so much contemplation, I had 23 manna to choose my summoner and monster all together. And most people would ask what this summoner and monster are.

A summoner is a magic user who harnesses one of six primal forces. They use this power to summon monsters.

A monster is any person or creature that is called forth by a summoner to do battle. The monsters do the actual fighting.

With a manna cap of 23, I settled for Kelya Frendul as my summoner. Mind you, this was the first time I was using this summoner, and she delivered, adding speed (+1) and amor (+) to all the monsters. With the level of speed and amor provided for the monsters, it was easy for their health level not to get affected at first strike. At first, I was pretty scared because I didn't know what my opponent had put together as their team. But to my greatest surprise, in all three battles, I came out as a winner.

First Battle Link

One thing I noticed in all three battles was the level at which the monster attacked. I found out that the stats are the core attributes of the characters: melee attack, ranged attack, and magic attack, while other stats include speed, armor, and health. If you have all these forms of attacks, then you are good to go, but for me, the magic attack was one of the best because its damage is done directly to the opponent's health, and there's no miss because it always hits the target.

For the second battle, it was super easy for my team because none of my monsters were hit, using the same summoner, Kelya Frendul, but different friendly monsters. I would say I was more on the advantage side because my manna cap was 33, so I really took advantage of it and came out the winner.

Then, for the third battle of the day, I was able to come out as the winner again, the manna cap being 21. I was able to create my team of monsters with the same summoner, Kelya Frendul, and I still emerged as the winner.

Third Battle Link

To conclude, I must say it was one entertaining game I have had the privilege of playing. I think I overcame my fears in one day, though I still have a lot to learn, like staking SPs, what it means to buy a spell book, what all the cards do, and how to use them, like knowing when you're using a good summoner. I'm still in the learning process, but as time goes by, I do know I will improve too.
