My First Post is a Food For Thought Post

I've seen a lot of talk after reward nerfs, in bronze specifically, about the harm to bringing in new players. I see the argument that it slows down progress for anybody wanting to start the game without any startup money to invest. Now is probably the hardest time to start the game this way since it started, but you have to look outside the play-to-earn model to understand the way this is a benefit to the game. I've played plenty of games that had no play-to-earn aspects. In those games it literally took months of playing to "catch up" with people who had been also been F2P, but started playing long before I did. Never would I expect to keep up with the "whales". In Splinterlands, I have been playing for about 4 months. I put in an initial investment of $100, and bought what I thought would carry me for a while. Turned out it was a decent card flip investment, but nothing as diverse as I needed to be well rounded with the varying rulesets that you may encounter. Here's the food for thought... if I was starting the game right now, I would be planning for the next core set release after Chaos Legion. Hear me out. Keep playing every day, grinding out those daily quests. Bank the little CP you get for a few seasons, and convert every little DEC or credit win you get into cards. Turn that CP and DEC into SPS through the airdrop. HODL until Chaos Legion is over and with, and if you happen to have some money to throw at packs when there is no need to vouchers, do it. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. The assets and return will come, just give it time and stay active.

Interesting points. Unfortunately I fear many won't read it because there isn't an eye catching photo, paragraphs with formatting, or enough length to really sink into. I hope you keep at it-- your insights deserve to be seen.
