Armored Up ruleset - Only relevant if you ignore magic attack

So here we are in 2024 a new year, a new beginning. Lots of days with golden opportunities to come... hopefully! ;) -Wishing you,Splinterlands and me all the best for the new year.

During festive season not too much has changed. Neither on my side nor on the teams side, I fear. As for me in particular I still have to win my first giveaway and get my hands on my first Rebellion edition card.
Pretty sure this will change in 2024. :D

So this week's ruleset is an old acquaintance: "Armored Up"

Basically this one is adding 2 armor stat to each unit on the field. (Even if they have not one, yet.)

Fineprint reads: "All units get a +2 armor buff at the beginning of the game.

Use Void Armor to ensure that magic attacks strike armor first.

Use Shatter or Piercing to destroy your opponent's armor more effectively."

So my lineup is again focused on magic-attack. My opponent went with a somewhat mixed lineup consisting of both magic attack units and ranged attack units. And a smith unit that might repair damaged armor stats.

Round 1 already started to look good for me. As I had already taken off the board two of my enemy's units and one of them being a tank unit that would reduce my magic damage I dealt. -So one of my opponent's fiercest enemies already gone.

Round 2 I lost more units, but my opponent lost even more. One of the units he lost in Round 2 was even a smith unit that could have repaired all the armor granted for free by our "Armored Up" ruleset. So It was basically still my strongest units vs. one of my opponent's main units.

But there came Round 3 and my opponent's lineup either left the field or ceased fire.

So this was another victory for team jdike. ... Did "Armored Up" ruleset play a role?
-No!

Although my opponent was kind of prepared to take advantage of the ruleset (remember his smith unit). By using magical damage my units kinda ignored the additional restrictions of "Armored Up" ruleset.

As there are a lot of lineups using that magic attack units, I fear "Armoed Up" is another of those less relevant rulesets...
