Brawl Report #18

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl Result

I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 3 wins and 2 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 1,500 merits and 17.244 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We did better this time around and I think more people remembered to submit their matches.

Brawl fights

There were 2 fights that I won, 2 that I lost, and 2 that did not submit their match. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and I thought I didn't expect to win this one. From what I saw, the snipe let my tank live longer and I was able to kill off enough monsters using opportunity. Focusing on a few cards really helped.

You can find the second match here. I won this match and this match could have gone either way but my opponent didn't have enough damage. It took some time to take out the first few monsters but once that happened, I won the rest of the match.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match and the Mylor thorns were too much for me.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match and my strategy was to use Riftwing and Thaddius was the winner. My lineup was able to survive long enough and the snipe benefitted me by killing my opponent.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and there was no way for me to do any damage to my opponent because I didn't use any cards with high attack power.

Conclusion

I think doing 5 fights for 1,500 merits and 17.244 SPS SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I submitted 4 fights and I won all of them. At the same time, my guild got 4th place and we had a few people who did not submit matches. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
