Brawl Report #23

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl Result

I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 5 wins and 0 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 3,250 merits and 22.179 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 2nd place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We did better this time around and I think more people remembered to submit their matches.

Brawl fights

There were 5 fights that I won. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match because my opponent didn't really have many cards on his side. It looks like my idea to use a bunch of support abilities helped me and my summoner also gave me an advantage as it was able to soak in part of the blast damage.

You can find the second match here. I won this match due to my bloodlust and opportunity monster. It worked great against my opponent and when combined with Martyr, it was able to survive the poison damage long enough to wipe out my opponent.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and I thought I would have lost after my bloodlust monster died so fast. On top of that, most of my damage was decreased due to that disintegrator but I managed to win slightly by not missing many attacks.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match and the use of Sandworm worked out well for me. I wasn't expecting it to land so many attacks and it made it easier to kill off the backline of my opponent. My Drybone did not really retaliate much so it wasn't as useful as I would like but it still helped me do quite a bit of damage for 2 rounds.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match with the use of multiple support abilities. The speed of my cards versus my opponent's also helped me because I could attack first and my opponent couldn't attack enough due to that recharge monster on his side.

Conclusion

I think doing 5 fights for 3,250 merits and 22.179 SPS SPS SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I submitted 4 fights and I won all of them. At the same time, my guild got 2nd place and we did well and 1st place was only a few points off. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
