Brawl Report #30

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 7 wins. My rewards for the brawl were 3,500 merits and 19.324 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 1st place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. It looks like we will be doing mostly 2 star rounds with the occasional 3 star brawl every few rounds.

Brawl fights

There were 6 fights that I won and 1 that I won due to surrender. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the second match here. I won this match due to focus on damage. It allowed me to kill off my opponent faster and having a shield ability tank in front allowed my cards to live longer too.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and having failed summoner in the 2nd spot helped due to the target practice ruleset. Having that magic reflect definitely helped me and I could finish off my opponent without any issue.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I worked my lineup around the noxious fumes ruleset. By using scavenger, heal, and rebirth, I was able to take out my opponent and keep my cards alive.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and this was a really long match. Both of us had healers so it took forever, but my Feasting Seaweed did enough damage and I was able to take out a few of my opponent's damage dealers with its opportunity ability. Once that happened, I won because it cut down a lot of my opponent's damage.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match and I didn't expect the dodge to happen so much on my last card. It definitely helped me outlast my opponent and I didn't miss much either. With that, I was able to win the match without too many issues.

Conclusion

I think doing 7 fights for 3,500 merits and 19.324 SPS SPS SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I won all of the matches that I submitted and it's been a while since the last time I did so. At the same time, my guild got 1st place by far. Brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
