Brawl Report #36

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 4 wins and 1 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 3,250 merits and 23.494 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 1st place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We can do 3 star brawls and it looks my next brawl will be a 3 star one.

Brawl fights

There were 2 fights that I won, 2 that I lost and 1 that I won due to surrender. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and I wasn't expecting to win. I thought fighting Lorna in this type of match was a sure win but I got lucky and dodged a few attacks. Also, my bloodlust monster stacked a few times and that gave me an advantage.

You can find the second match here. I won this match and I didn't think I would win this fight either. However, my focus on a tank with a shield and a card with tank heal turned this match in my favor. My opponent didn't get to stack too much bloodlust and I was able to outlast my opponent.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and the speed difference definitely played in my favor. By taking out my opponent's cards earlier, I was able to take an advantage in this match. At the same time, my summoner also added a shield to all of my cards and that helped me outlast my opponent.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match and there wasn't much I could do against Lorna. My opponent just took an extra hit to kill and this gave him the chance to take out my cards.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because of Chaos Dragon. Just having that card helped a lot and the earthquake slowly took out most of my opponent's cards. So playing according to the ruleset helped me out.

Conclusion

I think doing 5 fights for 3,250 merits and 23.494 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I am glad that I was able win most of my matches even if some of them were due to luck. At the same time, my guild got 1st place. Brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
