Brawl Report #37

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. We had a 3 star brawl battle and I have to say that it is rough due me being placed in the modern gold league gold foil fights.

Brawl fights

There were 3 that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and I honestly did not think I would win against my opponent because my cards were capped at bronze level from my summoner and my opponent had gold-capped cards. However, I was able to collect enough bloodlust to out-damage my opponent and win the match. It's a weird fight but I am glad that I was able to win the match.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and it was another fight my opponent had an advantage in card levels. I wasn't able to do much when my damage was all spread out. So my opponent demolished me with all the magic damage and speed difference.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent also had maxed level gold cards. There wasn't much I could do against the speed difference as my opponent demolished me.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match but I really wasn't expecting to win at all. My opponent had a level 3 version of Forgotten One that had retaliate and it ended up in a draw. However, my guild was the host of the match so the win was given to me. I am just glad that martyr helped me get that draw.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and I finally got an easy fight. My opponent didn't have a great lineup and I was able to take out my opponent. My opponent just didn't have a lot of cards that could attack me at any given point in time and my cards were faster.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because of my opponent's summoner and his summoner. There wasn't much that I could do when my opponent killed off most of my lineup quite fast and the sneak monsters devastated my backline.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 3 wins and 3 losses. It was a great brawl and I won all of my matches. My rewards for the brawl were 2,944 merits and 29.231 SPS in the 3 star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards but I think we were 1st place based on the guild chat. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls.

Conclusion

My performance was average this time around and I won exactly half of my matches so I am fine with that. I am not sure where we placed but I am assuming we placed 5th or 6th in the rankings due to the chat. It is a surprise to see that I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the three star category.
