Brawl Report #47 - Did better than last time

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. I was able to do better this time around.

Brawl fights

There were 4 fights that I won and 4 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and playing that magic bloodlust monster really helped me out. It managed to get quite a bit of kills and the lifeleech made it survive quite a while.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and I tried to play flying monsters according to the earthquake ruleset. However, that bloodlust monster, speed difference and pierce was a bit too much for me.

You can find the third match here. I won this match but I did get a bit lucky. The flying ability helped me dodge a few attacks and I won due to sneak monsters.

You can find the fourth match here. It was a close match but I couldn't do much against all the magic monsters.

You can find the fifth match here. I wasn't expecting to win because I was up against Mylor and I had all melee monsters. However, I was able to win in the end. The bloodlust and heal helped to offset the damage.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match and my opponent just outnumbered me. I thought that using a bloodlust monster would work out but I forgot that there was a unprotected ruleset.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match and my opponent just outdamaged me with all the sneak or opportunity monsters.

You can find the eighth match here. I won this match even if it was close. The bloodlust worked out in my favor and putting a protect monster in the snipe position worked out for me. The resurrect gave me some extra buffer on my cards as my opponent spread out his damage.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 wins and 4 losses. The brawl is better than the last one but it's quite a few fights. My rewards for the brawl were 2,611 merits and 25.164 SPS in the 3 star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards but I think we ranked fairly low. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls.

Conclusion

My performance was average this time around and I won half of my fights. I am not sure where we placed but I am assuming we placed 8th or 9th in the rankings due to the chat. It is a surprise to see that I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the three star category.
