Brawl Report #5

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl Result

I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 wins and 2 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 1,200 merits and 10.436 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 9th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Overall, my guild did pretty bad even though I got more wins than losses this time around. There were too many people who forgot to submit their matches.

Brawl fights

There were 3 fights that I won, 2 that I lost, and 1 that did not submit their match. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match and it had to do with my opponent's damage output. I couldn't really do too much due to damage and also due to his bloodlust mosnter.

You can find the second match here. I won this match and it was a good thing to have a bloodlust magic monster. The life leech was also amazing because it had quite a bit of health by the end of the match.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because I couldn't deal enough damage and my opponent could heal up all the damage I did per round.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match but I was worried due to my opponent's summoner. However, the bloodlust monster didn't get a damage increase and I was able to outlast my opponent using the heals.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and I thought I would have lost when Yodin was used as the summoner. However, my opponent couldn't really do much damage and my choice for more cards over fewer cards helped out in the end. The bloodlust monster also helped.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match but I was worried about losing this match. However, the opportunity monsters on my side helped push the match in my favor. By doing so, I got rid of his healer and his opportunity monster in the first round. From there, my cards just slowly took out my opponent and pushed the match in my favor.

Conclusion

I think doing 6 fights for 1,200 merits and 10.436 SPS as a pretty good reward for the effort. It's slightly less than before but it's still good for just 6 fights. My performance in the brawls isn't that bad either as I won over half of my matches. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
