Brawl Report #55 - Winning all my fights for a change

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I just keep losing my fights. I got lucky this time around and won all my matches though. I hope this keeps up.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 3 wins. My rewards for the brawl were 3,000 merits and 32.141 SPS in the 3 star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. It was a good brawl for a change.

Brawl fights

There were 2 fights that I won. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and it was a low mana range only match. My opponent had a mana advantage but we both had a similar lineup using Gargoya devil. My advantage was that I had a martyr monster as that made my Gargoya faster than my opponent. Since I did not miss, I was able to kill off my opponent before he could kill off me. I think my opponent should have used his summoner for speed rather than heal.

You can find the second match here. I won this match as well and it was because I combined demoralize with the shield ability. This reduced most of the damage that I got from my opponent and I was able to use that time to kill off my opponent. Using double strike was a good idea as the damage definitely added up.

Conclusion

I think doing 2 fights for 3,000 merits and 32.141 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. It's the first time in a long while where I won all my matches in a brawl because I have been losing a majority of my fights lately. My guild didn't do as well as last time but we still got 4th place and I think that is a good ranking. Brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the three star category. I won more than half of my matches and I am happy because of it. Let's hope my luck keeps up for the next brawl.
