Brawl Report #65 - Losing most of my fights but at least it's better than last time

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I just keep losing my fights recently. It doesn't help much but I only got 2 wins this time around and that is at least better than last time. I missed the previous brawl so I need to make sure to submit my matches earlier.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 3 wins. My rewards for the brawl were 2,714 merits and 45.936 SPS in the 4 star category. My guild ranked 9th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. At least we weren't last place as we were in 9th place.

Brawl fights

There were 2 fights that I won (one due to surrender) and 6 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match and just had the stronger lineup. Repair and heal (or tank heal) were too much to overcome.

You can find the second match here. I won the match because I outlasted my opponent. The heal and repair did a great job of keeping my tank monster alive and I was able to land most of my attacks as well. I also don't know why my opponent used a magic increasing summoner outside of monster levels because you can't use magic monsters due to the ruleset.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match and my opponent just had the stronger lineup. He targetted my backline and I couldn't do much.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match and my opponent had the stronger lineup again. He also had Quora and Gobson so there wasn't much that I could do.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and I also messed up placing the buff on the wrong monster. However, I still think I would have lost because the summoner would decrease my damage and I can't outdamage that Cursed Windeku.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match and I missed way too many attacks. I couldn't take out that taunt monster and my opponent was able to kill me off while I was missing those attacks.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match and my opponent just played Mylor as his summoner and that gives all his monsters thorns. As I played all melee monsters, I got destroyed by the counter damage.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 2,714 merits and 45.936 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I didn't do very well in my fights as I only won 2 fights. We didn't so great as a guild but at least we weren't last place.
