Brawl Report #8: Recovering from my losing streak

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.

Brawl fights

There were 4 that I won and 1 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match and I didn't miss many of my attacks. My summoner also helped because it removed the extra armor from his summoner thus making it easier to kill off his cards.

You can find the second match here. I won this match and it was a fairly close match. My bloodlust monster didn't manage to kill any cards but I outdamaged my opponent and took the win. It was close than I would like though.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and I demolished my opponent. By reducing his attack and making sure that my last monster had a lot of armor, I didn't take much damage. At the same time, I inspired my cards and wiped out my opponent.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match and I was able to wipe out my opponent with my damage. I had some support monsters this time around and having a shield monster in front helped a lot.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and I was hit hard by my opponent's fast monsters. I just couldn't deal enough damage to take out my opponent and once my tank went down, I couldn't do much about the rest of my other cards going down either.

Brawl Result

I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 wins and 1 losses. Unlike my previous brawl, I did quite well as I won most of my matches and I prefer to win at least half of my matches. It does even out a bit with last time to about that amount. My rewards for the brawl were 1,700 merits and 19.711 SPS in the 2 star category. I forgot to visit the guild and take a closer view of my rewards so I am guessing that we placed 3rd or 4th place in brawls. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls.

Conclusion

My performance was horrible this time around. The SPS and merit rewards are up so I think we average around 4th or 5th place for brawls. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the amount of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
