Splinterlands 41th Season of Glint, Merits and SPS

The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I didn't get as many fights as I would like in Modern because I have been more focused on Frontier. I decided to go back to my strategy before the cards in modern format changed, and decrease my league if I am close to the boundary. I was able to go back to Silver II this time around, and I dropped back down to Silver III before the end of the season.

Season Rewards

I ended up with 5,687 Glint for last season, which is less than what I was getting before. I did get to Silver II in Modern, and ended the season in Silver III this time around. I felt that things were slightly better this time around, but it might have just been my luck. I didn't do many fights until the end of the season, and I got some decent win streaks so it wasn't so bad to move up.

I did get three league advancement rewards in Modern. I think it was a decent reward this time around, and there was at least a rare card this time around.

I went for one epic this time. I felt that getting some epic cards (which are rarer from advancement chests) was the better choice. The stats on this card don't seem so good, but the ability seems situational. I don't think it will be that useful unless you use a ton of Avian cards.

Gladius Packs

I got 4 packs this time around, and the opening seems worse than last time. There were no gold foil, epic, or legendary cards. I did get quite a few rare cards, so I don't think my luck was that bad.

I was able to upgrade Renelor Cleaver to level 5. This gave the card the inspire ability, so it will also increase the melee damage for all of your monsters. It's too bad that my summoners in Modern can't play this card, and I can't use it in Brawls due to my placement in gold foil frays.

The second card that I upgraded was Sarius to level 6. It increases the health by 1, but it has the same issue as Renelor Cleaver where I can't use it too much. The upgrade is still quite nice though.

SPS

My SPS rewards were lower than last time. It looks like all categories are down from last time.

I plan on staking all of the SPS I got from staking for a total of 118.449 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected if I factor in the time difference.

Conclusion

This season had its good sides and bad sides. I did get to Silver II this time around, but my advancement chests weren't so great. The new epic card that I got seems situational and not sometbhing I would use often. The gladius packs weren't so great this time around. My SPS earnings also seem to be down slightly, but it's just how things are.
