Splinterlands: A'lan Musketeer is a monster that I can't stop using

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used A'lan Musketeer.

Featured cards

A'lan Musketeer is a neutral monster that costs 8 mana. It only has the double strike ability, but I think it is a fairly good card in Frontier. I got this card recently, and I have noticed that it's a good addition because it is neutral and it can be placed in most fights if I need it. I absolutely love using this card in Frontier due to its damage.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Keep Your Distance. This means that no melee monsters can be used. There is also 38 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, water, and death.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Aurelia for +1 health. My tank is Lunaki Howler followed by Glimmermancer as my backup tank. Then I have A'lan Musketeer as my main damage dealer in the last spot.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is my win because I can deal 7 damage per turn while my opponent can only deal 3 per turn. So I don't think there is anyway for my opponent to outlast me.

Round 4

round 4.png
A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 1 monsters while I have 2 left. This is my win because my opponent can't attack anymore.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. A'lan Musketeer is such a beast, and the extra damage that I had over my opponent made this an easy win. There wasn't much my opponent could do unless I missed, and even that wasn't very likely.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It is always in my deck line up in frontier ranked battles. The double strike attack each turn is a delight to behold.

I think this is just one of those games where you happen to field more magic cards than your opponent. Great win too, love the lineup

I think the enemy team is at disadvantage with only one magic damage unit on the team
