Splinterlands: Buns is great in Up Close & Personal

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Buns the Unseen.

Featured cards

Buns the Unseen is a neutral monster that costs 11 mana. It starts with reach. It learns void armor at level 2, and silence at level 4. I think it's already a good card at level 1, but at level 2, it becomes an amazing backup tank.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Lost Legendaries and Close & Personal. This means that no legendary cards can be used, and only melee monsters can be used. There are also 50 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for death and dragon.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Thalgrimore for the -1 health. My tank is Nim Guard Captain with void. My backup tank is Buns the Unseen. Following that is Kanaaq Miner, Vengeful Monk, and Ember Roast Sow as my damage dealer. Finally, I have New Beluroc Aegis with taunt to let my damage dealers deal more damage.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match is my win because I have more damage, and monsters than my opponent. I don't know why he chose water.

Round 5

A few rounds later, my opponent is down to 2 monsters while I have 5 of mine left. This is my win because I have more monsters.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. I was able to deal more damage and my opponent made a mistake by using water splinter. It didn't have enough monsters to make use of the mana cap, and I had quite a few tanks so my opponent couldn't deal too much damage against me.
