Splinterlands: Buns the Unseen is amazing in Equalizer

avatar

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Buns the Unseen.

Featured cards

Buns the Unseen is a neutral monster that costs 11 mana. It starts with reach. It learns void armor at level 2, and silence at level 4. I think it's already a good card at level 1, but at level 2, it becomes an amazing backup tank.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

rule set.png

The rulesets this time are Lost Magic and Equalizer. This means that no magic monsters can be used, and all monsters start at the same health. There is also 58 mana available, and I can use any splinter.

Buns the Unseen112ndReach
Agniavan Salamander83rdBlast
Sturdy Axe Warden84th
A'lan Musketeer85thDouble Strike
New Beluroc Aegis86thTaunt
Total Mana:56

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard, followed by Buns the Unseen with reach. Next are my ranged monsters, which are also my main damage dealers. Finally, I have Aegis as my last monster with taunt.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is my win because my monsters are all targetting the same monster while my opponent is spread out due to Aegis, and I also have higher speed/damage.

Round 6

round 6.png
A few rounds later, my opponent has 1 monster left, and I still have 4 of mine. There is nothing my opponent can do at this point.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. Buns the Unseen was a card that I got recently, but it worked out well due to its high armor. My opponent also couldn't use magic monsters, so my opponent had no choice but to cut through my armor first. It was such a great backup tank, as it let my ranged monsters focus down my opponent.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Great strategy 👏. Funny enough Buns The Unseen is no longer available in the spark shop. You can only buy in the market and it is been sold ,between $1.35 to $1.57 .

It was a great game, I think the opponent really tried to rally back into the game by targeting the cards in your backline, but they had more health, and shield, so great win actually

I agree with that observation that the enemy team does not have magic damage monsters that may improve the chance of the enemy team
