Splinterlands: Buying more cards and improving my deck
Splinterlands has been a challenging game lately and I have been considering what I could do to improve my own win rate. I have decided that I want to move up to Gold rank so I plan on buying some cards and preparing for that. I have a few cards that I do not own and a lot of them are in Riftwatchers or I could increase the power of my chaos legion deck because there are a lot of cards that are not leveled up yet. This time, I bought a mix of Riftwatchers and Chaos Legion cards. Improving my cards has been more crucial now that the fights in Splinterlands is harder.
Riftwatchers Purchase

Above are the cards that I purchased: Whelp Herder, Runemancer Atuat, Runemancer Kye, Baakjira, Runic Skyclaw and Mycelic Slipspawn using Monster Market. I get back part of what I paid for the cards and I prefer using this when I am buying directly off the market.

In order to purchase these cards, I decided to just pay HBD for 41,000 credits. The hive was gained from my author rewards over the past week and I will be continuing to use them to buff up my deck.
Whelp Herder

The first card that I wanted to upgrade was Whelp Herder for the opportunity. I wanted this card because it can help me more in little league matches and it increases the options. So I bought 14 cards to make mine level 3. With 2 attack at level 3, I find it as a fairly useful card to have in those low mana matches. I don't know how often I will use this card though.
Runemancer Atuat

The second card that I wanted was Runemancer Atuat because I wanted the headwinds ability. Debuffing the ranged attack can come in helpful when I am reminded of General Sloan. I bought a level 2 version so mines also comes with the force field ability to make it live longer against those strong monsters.
Runemancer Kye

The 3rd card is Runemancer Kye. This is an expensive card but it has both flying and life leech. I have lost quite a few matches to this card and I think the life leech ability will help in those poison matches. I would have preferred to make this level 2 for an extra magic attack, but the cards are quite expensive.
Baakjira

The 4th card is Baakjira. I got this card because it could help a lot in those matches where I can't use melee monsters. The void and slow ability makes it quite good as it can tank quite a few attacks. I have lost quite a few matches to this card because I couldn't kill off this card fast enough.
Runic Skyclaw

The 5th card is Runic Skyclaw. I bought this card for the flying and snipe ability. I didn't realize that I missed a rare card in my Riftwatcher collections but having more options for the earthquake matches doesn't sound bad. It has high speed and decent damage even at level 1.
Mycelic Slipspawn

The last is Mycelic Slipspawn. The taunt ability is very useful and I have been using this card quite often but it was only level 2. So I bought 11 BCX worth of this card to turn mine into level 4. This means that my Mycelic Slipspawn is now level 4 and has the force field. As the taunt makes it take every single attack, the ability to turn any attack that is greater than or equal to 5 will make it survive longer. This gives my team more time to kill off my opponent.
Battle

This is a battle that I did use some of my new cards. I used Baakjira and Runemancer Kye to help out my team and I was able to kill off my opponent's Llama plus Kron combination. I made good use of that martyr ability to make my Oshanius more powerful and my Runemancer Kye was able to outlast the poison damage to the very end.
Conclusion
I bought some cards to help me out in ranked battles and some will be more useful than others. However, I don't regret my choice and I still think this will benefit me in the long run. I am funding this through my blog earnings.
Do you play Splinterlands and have you bought any cards recently?

Nice choice of cards, and that Runemancer Kye is a game winner when playing Water Splinter; I tend to put her as the last tank. I have been buying Chaos Legion summoners for my main account to get these ones up to level 4. Like you, I am hoping to get back into the Gold League soon, although I will need to acquire more SPS.
I think it was also a good choice of cards and Runemancer Kye has been a beast so far. It has won in most of the matches that I have placed it in. In the last spot, it can function quite well as a tank for those sneak monsters.

Yes, that Runemancer Kye card is one of the best cards on Splinterlands. I suspect that once all the Riftwatcher packs have been sold, the all the Runamncer cards will go up in price very quickly.

Those are very useful cards you've gone shopping for.
Kye definitely is a good buy, that annoying Dragon Snipe monster with high speed is also a card I wish to gave in my deck.
Generally, nice cards you have bought, they should help you to win more battles as you prepare for the gold league fights.
Yea. I like Kye the most because I think it's a really strong card. Overall, I think my win rate should go up due to this but I haven't tried out most of the other cards.
