Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge Theme: Explore and Expand Splinterlands Lore - Djinn Muirat

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we explore the lore of the game.

Djinn Muirat

Nobody knows where Djinn Muirat came from, but he lives deep underneath Mortis in the Palace of Bones and can usually be found on top of a throne full of skulls. Plenty of people have raided the Palace of Bones for centuries to claim the expected treasures, but none has succeeded. After the great serpent dragon Gamadan the Earthquake failed to raid the Palace and was killed in a single blow, the forces around the world have only come to gain favors from him. As a cunning person, Muirat manipulates each deal into his favor and control the world. This can be found on the lore page for Djinn Muirat.

Djinn Muirat is an Khayal, a death elemental Djinn. As a Djinn who can live for centuries, he understands how life and death works in life. This is why he is so great at manipulating life and controlling rulers in the world.

Origin

Nobody knows the origin of this powerful ruler of death happens. In the lore page, some believe that the combination of death and darkness created him. Others say that he was born from the breath of a dragon. However, I think the bones in his Palace are his origins. I believe that Djinn Muirtat was born from the death of a great mage who died in the Deep Darkness. This mage ran into issues in the world above and was forced to go deep underground to survive. The reason behind it was that he was involved with necromancy and it was taboo for the living to deal with the bodies of the dead. He gathered the treasures he could and created a lair, one that would later become the Palace of Bones. As he grew older, he decided to do one last act and that was to turn himself into an undead. That ended up becoming what was later known as Djinn Muirat. This is why Djinn Muirat prefers to be on the throne because that was the place where he was born and also the remains of his former life.

Conclusion

This challenge was to extend the lore behind an existing character, and I felt that the closest thing to that was Djinn Muirat. I have always been interested in things like elementals or spirits in stories so when I saw the elemental section, I knew that I had to pick it. Djinns were the first thing on that page and that led to my decision for this card. When I saw that the origin of this card was not decided, I decided to make my own. It comes from the fantasy-type novels that I have read in the past and I think it makes major sense that his origin was a mage who fled to the underground after participating in things that were forbidden. This was a fun challenge and I think it was interesting to add my own imagination to the lore of Splinterlands.

What did you think of my addition to the lore?

For me making additional lore or story is too complicated, I am glad that you handle it well!
