Splinterlands: Failing my first Pit Challenge and finishing the 3rd Battle Challenge

A while ago, I talked about how 1 month of Lux's Favor went here. After 3 weeks, I was able to get my 3rd battle challenge, and it includes a Pit Challenge. Apparently, this is different from the normal challenge. You can challenge a fighter once for an extra bonus of sparks, but you only have one chance. Unfortunately, I failed the challenge, but I was confused and rushed things at the end. Hopefully this helps people understand how it works.

Pit Challenge

You are given a choice of three different things to fight. I decided to go with the hardest, but I didn't understand what it entailed. Essentially, you are fighting just one mob. This mob has stats and abilities.

You can see an example of the fight above. I failed because I didn't realize that there was magic reflect on the monster, and the retaliation made melee monsters less effective. I should have gone with a ranged lineup to deal damage, as that wouldn't have any counter damage. Having a monster up front with dodge would have been more effective to keep my ranged monsters alive.

Battle Challenge 3

I did finish my 3rd challenge, but forgot to keep track of the description. It was a fight where all monsters gained the void and shield abilities. I went with a water magic lineup, and that was able to wipe out my enemy without any issues.

Conclusion

It's interesting to see that there are still things that I don't know about in Lux's Favor. I think the battle challenges are interesting, and I was just confused about what the fight was about. I misread the abilities and went with a bad lineup. I'll do better next time as I will understand what to do next time.
