Splinterlands: Fighting against the same lineup but I won because of my level

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I saw a new rulset.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Up Close & Personal and Up to Eleven. This means only melee monsters can be used, and any counter damage is amplified. There is also 26 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for death, or dragon.

The counter damage isn't much of a concern in Frontier battles, so it will be more about the melee monsters in this fight.

My summoner is Aurelia for the +1 health. I have Dread Tafarian as my tank with heal. After that is Mad Gearhead with reach and Vicious Quilliun with opportunity

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Dread is just a fairly good tank due to that heal ability, and I want to make sure that my damage isn't low, so I used monsters that can attack from their current position.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match due to the level advantage. My opponent has chosen to use the exact lineup as me too.

Round 4

A few rounds later, I am left with all my monsters alive, but my opponent only has 1. So this is my win.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. I won this match because I had the higher level cards, and they get to attack before my opponent. The levels can make up for that slight level disadvantage.
