Splinterlands: Grand Consul Minion is a decent card in explosive weaponry due to it's speed
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Grand Consul Minion.
Featured cards

Grand Consul Minion is a neutral splinter that costs 4 mana. This splinter starts off with no abilities, but leveling it does increase its stats. I find it a decent card to use in Frontier due to its mana cost and fast speed.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Briar Patch and Explosive Weaponry. This means that all monsters gain the thorns and blast ability. There is also 31 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for death.
This ruleset is interesting because of the blast and thorns. There also isn't much mana to deal with so you have to be selective with your cards.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 Magic |
| Asel Alagosdil | 4 | 1st | Divine Shield |
| Mystic Scaleweaver | 9 | 2nd | Slow |
| Saltwater Mage | 8 | 3rd | Sneak |
| Grand Consul Minion | 4 | 4th | |
| Total Mana: | 31 |
My summoner is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic. My tank is Asel Alagosdil with divine shield. After that is Mystic Scaleweaver with slow and Saltwater Mage with sneak. Finally, I have Grand Consul Minion.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Mystic Scaleweaver is in my second slot because I want Saltwater and Minion to survive longer.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent has tankier monsters, but I have more magic damage.
Round 2

A few rounds later, both my opponent and I are down to 2 monsters left. However, my opponent doesn't have enough damage to finish me off, so this is my win.

I won that match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time did not go exactly as planned, but my choice to use Grand Consul Minion was correct. It removed the divine shield off my opponent's Asel, and let my magic damage kill off his tank. Ultimately, I believe this was the deciding factor of the match, and using Saltwater mage was good as well because the blast damage dealt 2s.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Blast is one difficult ruleset to compete in winning can go either way.But after watching the battle, Saltwater Mage was the game changer and your tank was a little bit more upgraded than your opponent's own. Kudos 👏
Saltwater mage was a great damage dealer, but I still think minion's first attack removing divine shield helped out more.
That third card in your lineup had enough health to sustain your game from the blast. Nice tactics
Yea. Saltwater Mage is a fairly strong card.
Grand Consul Minion is a nice card to use to fill the team
It's a nice cheap card to use. !LOL !PIZZA !PIMP
Yes it is!
