Splinterlands: Immortalis and Counterspell ruleset

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a summoner named Immortalis and why it is useful in the counterspell ruleset.

Immortalis is an earth summoner that gives -1 health, void and shatter ability. These are quite good abilities because shatter removes armor and void reduces magic damage. With all of these abilities available, it can affect how matches are won. Between Immortalis and Obsidian, I am conflicted on which to choose often. My Immortalis is currently level 2 and it costs 6 mana. It also costs about $16 per BCX per card so it can be quite expensive just like most summoners.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is counterspell. This means that all magic monsters will have their damage reflected back to them. There is also 26 mana available and I am the choice of fire, earth or dragon splinter.

As I stated earlier, my summoner is Immortalis because magic reflect will also be reduced by the void ability. This means that any of my monsters with 2 or less magic will take zero damage from reflect and negate the damage from that ruleset.

Djinn Biljka34thMagic damage and camouflage
Regal Peryton55thFlying and magic damage
Total Mana:26

My plan is to have Mycelic Infantry act as my tanks. The Queen Mycelia is there to give armor and also to amplify the damage from magic reflect. Other than that, I have Djinn Biljka with camouflage and then Regal Peryton in the last spot. I put it there to dodge some of the sneak attacks using it's flying ability and also because it moves fast so it will also trigger the shatter before my melee monster attacks.

Round 1

round 1.png
At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think this will be a tough match. It will depend on how much I dodge attacks with my Regal Peryton. With my magic monsters, I should be able to kill off his tank fast but all that sneak damage is worrisome.

Round 2

round 2.png
I managed to dodge a few attacks and take out one monster on my opponent's side. At this point, it will be up to luck to see what happens.

Round 3

round 3.png
I lost two cards and my opponent lost one. However, I am glad that my Djinn has camouflage because it will continue to deal damage. My tank will help me delay and then I will see what happens.

Round 4

round 4.png
Since I did not miss, my opponent is down to 1 card left and this is my win. My magic attacks can't miss so my opponent's last attacker will go down this round.

conclusion.png
As I expected I won after a few rounds because my opponent couldn't attack me anymore.

Conclusion

The battle this time around did not go as I expected. I wasn't expecting so many sneak monsters so most of my magic monsters ended up going down early. My plan for Immortalis did work out because I didn't take any counterspell damage. I am just glad that my plan to put a flying monster in the last spot worked out.

In the end, I think this card was worth the cost and it works quite well in the counterspell ruleset.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

I don't think that is a bad thing. It depends on what you are fighting and Quora was able to stack enough bloodlust in that match. Everyone has their own preferences and it's not like we can win every single match.

when low on mana she is unbeatable. She is weak with a lot of mana and I usually lose.I like bloodlust

It depends, but I tend to prefer Katrelba when it's low mana because of the double attack and sneak.

Nice win, I have a weakness for Immortalis, it is a very powerful summoner. Nice to see you have it at level 2.

Thanks. I bought enough BCX for level 2 a few weeks back and it has worked out for me.
