Splinterlands: Imperial Knight is an amazing card to use in the Noxious Fumes ruleset

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a card named Imperial Knight.

Featured Monster: Imperial Knight

Spirit Hoarder is a life splinter card that costs 7 mana. It starts with void armor, learns heal at level 5 and magic reflect at level 9. It's a great tank to have because it can heal itself and any magic damage will hurt its armor first. I don't have one at level 9 but the magic reflect looks like a great addition too.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is rise of the commons and noxious fumes. This means that summoner effects aren't there and all monsters start with the same amount of HP. There is also 31 mana available and I am left every splinter except for life.

The summoner I choose to use this time is General Sloan. In a match like this, I plan on using a few supportive ranged monsters and increasing their damage will be helpful.

General Sloan4Summoner+1 ranged

Herbalist24thCleanse

Total Mana:25

My plan is just to have a Imperial Knight up front to tank the damage then I have all my supportive monsters after that (slow, tank heal, and cleanse). Xenith Monk is in the back to tank any sneak attacks and heal through the poison if it becomes a battle of endurance.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think it will be a tough match and I think I have a good chance of losing. Lorna is a hard summoner to beat so I will be relying on the poison to kill off my opponent.

Round 2

round 2.png
I lost a card and most of my lineup is damaged. So it depends on my Imperial Knight surviving all the attacks.

Round 3

round 3.png
I lost two cards last round but my opponent will lose 3 of his cards from the poison. So at this point, it's most likely my win so long as I can outlast my opponent because he can only do 1 damage per turn on me (3 damage from sneak and I heal 2 from heal).

conclusion.png
As I expected, I won after landing a hit on his healer because my opponent couldn't deal any more damage to me.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for allowed me to outlast my opponent. The cleanse removed the poison of my Imperial Knight and the healing allowed it to outlast all my opponent's damage. I was worried that my Imperial Knight would die off faster than the opponent's monsters would die of poison but that did not happen. Overall, Imperial Knight is a great card to use and it comes from the focus/seasonal chests that you get right now. The increased ranged damage from General Sloan also helped me take out a few cards towards the start of the match as well.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

The ruleset favours you to win this one even if your imperial knight couldn't heal, the ruleset still means you get to win. It's hard to beat the Lorna, but it was good to see that you landed some really good hit. Sweet win, even if it wasn't comfortable.

I think I would have lost without the heals, but yea Lorna is a tough summoner to beat. I am a bit sad that I didn't build her up when she was cheaper.

It's crazy, there are some cards we could have actually built when they were cheaper, but the market can be unpredictable.

I use it in Noxious Fumes as well because of the healing ability it has.

I like that your Harbalist at level 4

Yea. I like having the cleanse ability from Herbalist. It's quite good for Noxious Fumes.

The imperial knight is a pretty strong card especially when it has healing. I'm starting to use it more and more in the game.

Yea. It's a pretty strong card depending on the situation and it works well against the magic monsters too.

I don't play this game, but I think I will learn more about it. I hear the bear market is a good time to get into the game. I don't have all my Hive investment capitol returned to me yet, but soon I will and then I will look into it more. Any post suggestions for a newbie?

Things have changed a lot so I don't have any suggestions right now. The gameplay hasn't changed too much but summoners/cards and staked SPS is the first thing I would consider.
